Been there one time. I was pretty wasted then. Staff was friendly. Own tap systems are funny. Beer is not so interesting. Didnt try the food.

2 bars at each end of the building. Lots of seating. Most of the tables have a 2 tap system to pour your own. The food smelt good but I didnít eat. 3 beers on tap, none of them were very good. The servers didnít seem to care much about anybody just having beer. The good: 3 samplers were $2.50.

The Bierfabriek is a nice place to hang out with a large group of friends to drink the day away and to enjoy a nice meal with loads of beautifully grilled, crispy, tasty chicken and fries. However, in terms of beer we do not have to expect much of it. The system with the own beer taps is quite a nice novelty and has its own charms, but the a beers are quite mediocre pilseners, so do not expect it to be a true feast for the connaiseur. If you just want to enjoy a nice evening with loads of okayish beer, good chicken and peanuts shattered all around the floor, this is quite a nice, cozy place to visit. Itís in the city centre, so after you meal you can easily walk to places like Gollem and Het Arendnest for a small íconnaiseur brewí.

I had a great experience here and would not hesitate to recommend it to anyone who wants a good meal. The first thing that struck me, as my wife and I entered the premices tonight was peanut shells cracking under my feet. The floor was littered with it. This is from peanut piles offered on every table. A gimmick, for sure. The second gimmick is the tables that have their own taps. I liked that. Quick and friendly service. Their special is the BBQ chicken. We both had that and absolutely loved the dish. They marinate it in beer and olive oil for 24 hours, then grill it over charcoal. Succulent and delicious. The house beers are OK, not top notch, but both the Nero and the Rosso work well with the chicken. Good value.

Had passed up on this place in the past as reports had not been too good. So, it was time to grasp the nettle. Itís a big place with a modern, industrial feel and was quite sparsely populated when we visited early evening. I get the distinct impression this would be more of a party place at busier times. The best I could say about the beers is that they were mediocre - and it turned out that one of them was brewed at Alfa, not in-house. The brewpub aspect seemed more of a gimmicky afterthought than a serious endeavour. Doubt Iíll be back unless there is a new beer to tick.

Iíd heard poor reports of this place but it had to be tried! Actually, I quite liked it. Itís different, if nothing else. Just down from Dam Square, De Bierfabriek is in a 1913 building which has been stripped out inside so it has a very functional feel with lots of concrete in evidence. The steel brew kit is in the window and thereís a copper kit inside at the back. In addition to a tea light, every table has a clutch of peanuts and, in mediterranean style, it seems to be de rigeur to chuck the shells on the floor. The tables at the front also have their own personal taps so you can serve yourself, which is a novel idea. The kitchen is in the middle. It has an open barbeque, apparently fuelled by real coal of the type that used to be used in peopleís hearths at home. It was sparking away to cook dozens of small chickens on long double skewers. Iím sorry we didnít eat there because the beer-marinated chickens are their speciality. They brew three beers on the premises and this may be the best use for them as they werenít anything to write home about. However, the service was friendly and enthusiastic.

Visited september 2013. Placed close to the citycenter easy to walk to. Was rather quiet this sunday late afternoon. Rather large, but yet cosy brewpub, with the kitchen and the brewing plants visible. We had 3 of their beers and a small bar snack. They do food as well, but it was a bit to early for us to eat.. Staff was friendly and serviceminded..
