Been here once when I went to Amsterdam a few months back. Huge selection of beers from all over the world. Loads of lambics downstairs and the rest is upstairs. A bit expensive, I bought a bottle of Westy 12 for 14 euroís. Loads of glassware and gadgets are also present in the shop.

Located just behind the Dam Square, youíll find this lovely beer shop. An entrance with lots of crates and big bottles, lots of glassware behind the counter and some shirts on the right site (and lots of other beer items that covers the place) Downstairs youíll find some Lambic. Upstairs all the other styles from countries all over the world. A very good selection en good prices! Some of the more exclusive brews for a bit more money, but most of the beers are pretty normal priced. Been here twice, first time a helpful lady was running the place, second time the owner was behind the counter and we were possible to have a nice but quick chat with him. He told me the most expensive bottle they had was a Crianza Helena for 40 Euro, behind the counter. Got one bottle of the World Wide Stout 2003 for 13 Euro. A pity I had only 2 bags with me (one filled with goodies from the Cracked Kettle)Ö So I couldnít go all the way. Will go back for sure! Whenever youíre in Amsterdam, this is another must visit! You will succeed for sure!

De Bierkonig is situated very centrally in a street off Dam Square. Itís not large but it fits a tremendous selection of high quality beers into the small area at the front and up a short set of wooden steps to a platform area. Theyíre arranged by country and I defy anyone to find it hard to fill their basket here. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable.

Plow your way through gormless tourists accross the Dam Square to this great beer shop, it is definitely worth the effort. Fine selection of Dutch beers as you would expect. Lots of the smaller brewers are well represented. English beers - not bad! Scandanavian - very good selection. US - a nice range with a smattering of rbottles rarely seen in Europe. There is plenty of Belgians as well and I think quite a good choice of German but to be honest I can never be bothered to look at those! Take a basket on entry and fill it up no problem, your only worry will be what not to take away. Service is always friendly and knowledgable! One of the best beer shops in Europe! Just be careful of the stacked crates outside the shop if you have had a few in the Bier Temple round the corner!!

Excellent beer shop a stoneís throw from Beer Temple. A selection of local Dutch brews I had not seen elsewhere. Many Belgian and US bottles. A small selection of vintage too. Glassware available. Busy staff.

WOW!! 1100+ beers!! I was amazed at the selection of American micros even though that isnít what I was there for. I could have spent a lot of money here if I thought I could get all the beer back to the states in my luggage. Crates of Westvleteren 12 for the tourists (14.50 euros/bottle!). Tons of Belgians, Dutch, German, British, etc. They also have an incredible selection of glassware. I found all the prices to be very reasonable except for the Westys. Luckily we went to the St. Sixtus Abbey the week before and bought some at the In de Vrede. Been there, done that, bought the t-shirt!

Nice little store that offers a great variety of American beers. And a bunch from neighboring countries that I hadnít seen around before. Service was a bit lacking, and slow, but friendly enough. Prices seem to be a bit on the steep side for some stuff, but that is expected. But some of the more local stuff was way above average. If you want to find some American craft brew in the area, there seems to be an abundance in this store and the Cracked Kettle. Plus the BeerTemple has some on draft. Much better selection in this city than most of the rest of the surrounding cities and countries.

Centrally located store, that boasts a large amount of different beers at good prices. Sadly a lot of the available beers are a bit uninteresting macros, and the real gems are not as easy to find. Staff is a bit impassive, but knowledgeable and happy to help when asked. All in all itís a place thatís not easy to leave empty handed.
