The selection is just mind-blowing. Lots of Dutch and Belgian stuff, but also a whole bunch of American though a bit pricier most of them, still about as cheap as you’ll get them this side of the pond. Also spotted some Mexican stuff. A very nice selection of lambics downstairs as well, might miss it completely if not careful. Very nice service, didn’t drill them on their beer knowledge though. A bit crowded, but they just have so many beers in there. About as great a beer store as you’d like.

Choose a beer you like to drink and you will find it there. It’s the most complete store I’ve ever been at.

As I live in Amsterdam, I come here quite often. Really love it, there is just such a huge variety of beers and the selection is updated regularly as well. And the people that work at the Bierkoning are genuinely interested and friendly. If you’re in or near Amsterdam, you should visit this place!

Located just off the Dam - this quaint store has an entire wall of glasses for sale behind the counter and beers lining the wood walls. Excellent selection of European beers. Stateside beers are also represented with a few specialties that I’ve not seen back home. Service is not necessary, but is offered. Prices are less that one would pay back in the States for similar Dutch products, so can’t complain.

Nice pretty small store with lots of choice. A lot of Dutch microbrews and a very nice selection of American, German and Scandinavian beers. Staff was helpfull, interested and up for a chat. Nice store, worth visiting if in the area.

One of the best beer shops I have ever been in. Really, I was just thrilled to spend time in here. Prices are pretty damn fair and the selection is unreal. I bought so much beer here. Can’t wait to return.

Got impressed by this shop when entering. Good looking, and really a lot of beers to chose from. Nice guy behind the bar. Ok prices, specially for a shop in the middle of a city like this.

Great selection of beers, I was happy as a kid in a candy store. Lots of beers that are quite hard to find at other places in The Netherlands, for OK prices. Expensive stuff is around of course, but it seems they offer value for money. The woman behind the counter was nice and helpful, and offered good advice. Will for sure go back when I’m visiting Amsterdam again.
Update: while revisiting during De Nederlandse Brettanomyces dagen -which was a great idea btw- it struck me how much the staff actually does for their customers. For this I’ve added a few points to service and overall, it’s well deserved.
