I would argue this is the best place to buy beers in Amsterdam, and possibly even in the Netherlands.

Another great Amsterdam beer store, this one lacking the charm of the nearby Cracked Kettle, but nonetheless a great shop, of note is the Lambic section "downstairs." I visit both De Bierkoning and the Cracked Kettle every time, and I recommend anyone else do the same.

Awesome beer store just off the Dam Square. Incredible selection of beers from really all over. Excellent service. The shop owner is very happy to talk beer and help you out with your selection. Some rare stuff, and priced accordingly. A must stop in Amsterdam although Iíd check out the Cracked Kettle as well to make comparisons.

Really really good beer store. The trays of Westy 12 and 8 are a starting point. I was particularly pleased with the highly rated De Molen beers and a few foreign goodies (Brewdog Tokyo*), but the clincher was the great selection of lambics downstairs. A bit scattershot in its organization and a bit cramped, but call that part of the charm. Great location, just a brief walk from the Nieuwe Kerk.

Centrally located two-story, though still rather small, beer shop. Nice selection though, with a good mix of Dutch, Belgian, American and some other European beers. Has a couple of gems but a prices of course. Good prices in general though. Cracked Kettle is only a short walk from here and I would recommend to visit both places before buying anything.

There is nothing I can add here thatís new. Best beer store in the country, and the location is great. Just a little too small. The people working there know everything and are always friendly, even when just showing people the way to the railway station.

Well... Wow is all I have to say. When you walk in there is a glorious glass selection on your left. A very good "on the go" selection on your right. And then the fun really begins straight ahead. Iíve been in world class liquor stores, wine stores... But never have I seen a store so dedicated to beer. The Belgian section rivals (in quality) any store I saw in Brussles and Brugges. Then They had German, Scandinavian, American and Dutch craft brews upstairs. Everything on the shelf was worthy of bringing home. Then if you turn around, aged Westy, Rochefort, and Achel. Go downstairs and you will find a lambic playground. Damn. I canít imagine a better beer store. I only wished I had more room in my luggage.

De Bierkoning is a major beerstor in the heart of Amsterdam just off Dam. Cosy atmosphere with beers everywhere. The good thing is that you can get so many very good beers here. Lot of Trappists, Mikkellers, Molen and american stuff. The downside of having sooo many beers is that there is a lot of crappy beers too. So you can say that there is a beer for every costumer..but I guess I would prefer less beers that all was of good quality. Looking for beerglases this is the place to go. Nice staff
