Massive selection and very clean shop. Service was great but not as personable as the Cracked Kettle. If you are on a trek to find beer, between the two De Bierkoning and the Cracked Kettle will have everything you want.

Excellent shop. Nice dutch selection, really nice service, OK priced. The best beershop in Amsterdam that I have visited.

Massive selection, though the cracked kettle has a few you wont find here and vice versa. All the glasses for the beers are displayed behind the counter, and from the street you might think its a kitchen store. Lots of nice gift packs for trappist beers and lots of others all well.

Impressive selection of beers, arranged neatly and sold cheaply. A good, clean, tidy shop. Small, but there’s enough room to move around the selection and make your choices. Probably one of the best beer shops I’ve encountered.

My first big beer store with items from all over the world. Great beer choice and I simply didn’t know what to buy. Only one little complain: I havn’t find any beer from new country.

By a fair margin the most solid selection in Amsterdam, so the place is immediately an absolute must-visit. If I stayed in Amsterdam for a month or so, I’d likely hit the place everyday to go through Netherlands’ beers. I picked about 10 and could easily have picked another 10 that I considered must. Lots of imports as well, at least 5 rare belgians that I regret not having picked. Knowledgeable, passionate staff, completely willing to help. Central location, just out of Dam Square in the very heart of the town. Limited opening hours in the weekend though, closing at 18 and even worse on sunday when it only opens at 13. Very very large collection of glassware (100?) at very reasonable prices too (2-5 euros).

My biggest regret of only bringinging one suitcase was re-enforced when I entered the shop. Damn, beers from everywhere, including just about any lambic you could want. Oh and the glassware selection is amazing as well.

No doubt, one of the best beer shops in the world. So many Belgians, many of which are not available in the USA. About a hundred dutch micros. Westvleteren at a reasonably fair price. Really great bottle shop.

This shop has a very large selection and I found beers here I found no where else in Amsterdam, like Andechs and Alvinne. The service was not very friendly and offered no help, and seemed bothered when I asked. Bierkoning can’t beat the friendly atmosphere of the Cracked Kettle but the selection is far better.
