72 AMBIANCE 3/5 SERVICE 6/10 SELECTION 12/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 5/10 OVERALL 15/20 kerolasa (14) London, England | July 24, 2010 My favorite, and only one I went time after time, store in Leiden. The only major problem in the store is that you need to be very careful not to knock items out of shelves (packed of products). p.s. These guys also sell lots of whisky just in case you happen to need such. | 90 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 9/10 SELECTION 14/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 7/10 OVERALL 18/20 erickok (87) Tours, France | February 9, 2010| Updated November 10, 2012 This is my main supplier and a very nice shop indeed. Packed with beers (and wiskeys) from all over the world. Good selection of Belgian beers, but also regional and Dutch, English, US, German, etc. Best is the high quality and constant renewal of what’s offered. Happy to help you (even order beers or glasses not in stock) even then busy in the tight shop. Ask for some InBev beer to kick start a good conversation. :P Has a closed cellar with aged beers as well. | 88 AMBIANCE 5/5 SERVICE 9/10 SELECTION 12/15 FOOD N/A VALUE N/A OVERALL 18/20 goozen (54) Leiden, Netherlands | May 16, 2009| Updated July 27, 2012 Good selection of South-Holland beers, some good British ales, German beers, also American micros available.
| 76 AMBIANCE 3/5 SERVICE 7/10 SELECTION 14/15 FOOD N/A VALUE N/A OVERALL 14/20 chilangoglobal (4) Mexico City, Mexico | July 5, 2008| Updated July 27, 2012 Very good shoop in the centrum of Leiden, bit difficult to find the place but once within, you’ll get crazy of the amount of beer, There are not many local beers, but without doubt is one of the best collection in North Holland. They just moved to the number 9 in Hartesteeg | 80 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 14/15 FOOD N/A VALUE N/A OVERALL 14/20 TrefwoordPunk (8) Leiden, Netherlands | December 7, 2007| Updated September 24, 2009 Nice dark beer-shop with a very good selection and lots of glassware. Helpful staff, but it’s a shame their beer isn’t priced | 60 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 9/10 SELECTION 9/15 FOOD N/A VALUE N/A OVERALL 8/20 Chimay (3) , Netherlands | November 30, 2006| Updated September 24, 2009 Living around the corner this store is part of my saturday round, and I always end up with something perfect for the night.
They opened the world of beer for me as they supplied my studentbar with over 30 specialbeers, such as: Chimay, Orval, Bush, Beelzebub, Fin de Monde. Beers hard to find in a normal cafe, let alone a studentbar.
Good knowledge and service (we ones woke them up at 00:00 to get an emergency delivery)
Please do not forget the Cuvee from the Keiser ones it is there. Also like that they have a good selection of German beer, Belgian beer and strong liquor.
did I mention I lived around the corner :P | 78 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 12/15 FOOD N/A VALUE N/A OVERALL 15/20 maeib (12) Wootton, Northampton, England | May 10, 2006| Updated September 24, 2009 Lovely beer shop in a lovely city. Decent selection of Dutch beers. A good selection of Belgians, some Germans, some British and some US. Some big beers as well like Bush Prestige and some of the really good lambics. Main criticism is that the prices are not shown on or near each beer - however I don’t feel what I paid for the stuff I got was too bad. Didn’t dare buy the Prestige though, maybe next time?? Not open Sundays (understandable) or Mondays (ridiculous) | 90 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 9/10 SELECTION 14/15 FOOD N/A VALUE N/A OVERALL 18/20 Otje (4) Veendam, Netherlands | October 23, 2005 This bottle shop is my main provider and, as you can see in my ratings, they have a very broad selection of beers from all over the world. including Fantome, real ales and a lot of dutch, german and belgian microbrews. If i want something they always check out availabilaty, and most of the time, order it for me. Just great!! Their whisky selection is also out of this world...But i must admit, not the cheapest of shops. | 82 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 13/15 FOOD N/A VALUE N/A OVERALL 16/20 JanPrimus1982 (7) Delft, Netherlands | September 13, 2005 Instead of the Wijn & Bierboutique these people from De Man Van Drank know where they talking about. Had a nice chat about Fantome. A bit expensive. | 88 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 9/10 SELECTION 13/15 FOOD N/A VALUE N/A OVERALL 18/20 bikesandbeers (4) san diego, California | September 6, 2005 Friendly workers, awesome selction. lots of great belgian ales and dutch microbrews. Also carries the full range of Anchor (which you can’t always find on the east coast of the US, let alone in europe) and Coopers (not seen much outside of australia. Prices are what you expect to pay at a small specility shop. Not the cheapest, but worth every penny. |
