The best beer place I’ve ever been to.I came to this place two days in a row and it was definitely not enough. If you come here by train it’s not too close to neither Liedekercke not Denderleeuw station but it’s well worth the 15 mins hike from Liedekercke stations (just walk straight to the center of the village and ask someone there, it’s really close). Service was really good and helpful all the time. The beer list is the best I’ve encountered with loads of Lambics and a long vintage list (you have to ask for it). Some beers I’ve had there: Rodenbach Alexander, De Troch Gueuze, J & J both Roze and Blauw, De Neve Gueuze, an old bottle of Whitbread Extra Stout and a few years old Orval. Unfortunately other beer lovers finished the stock of some of my most wanted Lambics just the week before I got there, but there was still plenty to choose from. Beer prices (even for the rare vintage beers) are really cheap. I’ve had soup and vegeterian lasagna to eat which were very nice. If you don’t eat you get some free cheese with the beer. The beer Pralines are really delicious. Have I said this place is amazing already?

Visited a nice sunny afternnoon and had a table in the nice beergarden. Fairly busy at our visit with mixed crowd having lunch. Nice selection with a about 10 taps and a very long bottle list. Prices on taps and "normal" bottles are fine, for the rare or vintage bottle list it can get rather pricy. Service was nice and friendly, but somewhat slow. Didnt eat, but food looked tasty. Would like to return someday with a bit more time on my hand.

Nice food, nice interior, a greate list of beers. But........ Horrible service. HORRIBLE. I can´t even describe it. I know this place have a good beer cellar but that doesn’t mean that you can do whatever you like, and treat your customers with disrespect. I have been here a couple of times but this time the crap-fest went to a whole new level. I can, without a doubt in my heart, say that this place don’t want to be a great beer pub. To explain: A good beer pub is proud to have a good quality and a decent quantity of beer. De Heeren van Liedekercke used their beer cellar as an excuse for the HOUR it took for us to get a beer. If we just had ordered "a normal beer", we were told, it would not have taken that long. WTF? Are you kidding me? This crap combined with a total nonchalance towards us and no interest in compensating or apologising. NEVER GOING BACK! In todays beer-world we have better places to explore.

I love the selection at this place. The food is nice and the ambience on the deck out back is great. All of the servers I’ve encountered are friendly, but holy shit the service is slow!!!!! On my last visit I managed to successfully order 3 beers in 3 hours. 2 other orders never made it to my table. I just don’t understand how this happens. My wife and I sat there watching the staff take orders, then go in and out of the restaurant without bringing beer to tables. The servers look confused most of the time. I’m confused as to how serving beer gets so complicated. Any kind of service would raise my score considerably. On the positive side.... There are some decent prices on the beer menu. It’s just the stuff sought after by the uber beer nerds that is priced through the roof. For instance, an aged Westy 12 is priced north of 20 Euro while an aged St Bernardus from the same year will set you back 7.

Huge bottle selection at very high price, Moeder had better prices. The place is old and not so pretty, high temperature also. Service wasn’t particularly slow, like some mentionned, nor rude but not so good either. Food was decent at best. I’d go to Grote dorst (of course!) and Moeder Fontainas over this place especially considering it is out of center.

Been there a few times. The food is nice, but not top class. Their beer cellar is great with a huge bottle list. I’ts great and almost as good as Kulminator or Akkurat. Price is of course high for the rare stuff. The big problem with this place is the service. Had to wait 30 minutes to get a ordinary beer and over one hour for the vintage beers. We managed to order 4 times in one night! And they did’nt seem to care at all. If you want to have a world class experience with a lot of vintage beers, go to Akkurat or Kulmunator instead,

Horrible service. Had to wait for over an hour for each round of beer. And only because we ordered from their cellar list, which is what they’re famous for. Horrible attitude from the staff, ordering unregistered taxis who try to rip off foreign guests. Total crap! What has happened since last year?!

I have visited this place some times and I have never ever even gotten close to as bad service as this place have. Last time we waited 1 hour for each beer (4.5 hours for 4 rounds of beers and it was 3-4 beers each round). They where absolutly not sorry about it and didn’t give a shit about us. They have some expensive whales on their list so if you have a lot of time and money maby you can tick something you always wanted. My opinion is that it is totally crap and you should go to good places like Kulminator.

Been here twice, first visit was enjoyable and overall decent. Second one was a disaster. The beer list is phenomenal and the food is really well made and thought through. Ambiance is OK. What was truly horrible, unprofessional and unacceptable was the service. It was the slowest I’ve ever encountered (we managed to get four rounds of beer in 4.5 fucking hours!), the food was pretty slow as well and the attitude of the servers is totally unacceptable. They were not in the slightest way interested in taking the blame or apologizing for the slow service and tried to put the blame on us for ordering too weird beer! They said that as long as we would’ve ordered "normal beer", it would’ve been fast. This wasn’t even the case as our first round of four draught beer took over 45 minutes! Why boast about having "the best" beer cellar in the world if you think it’s annoying to serve it?! Their whole serving system is extremely inefficient and unprofessional since all servers seemed to work both inside and outside with all tables, which led to an extreme amount of wrongly delivered food and beer and also the same questions over and over again. They complained about being busy when the place wasn’t even half full! I’ve worked in serving with twice as many customers and a big beer selection with as many workers without service being slow at all! To top it of, they didn’t even try to make the slightest gesture for being slow (a round of draught beers or 20€ of the tab would have resulted in a much kinder review) and in an attempt to get us out of their restaurant, they ordered a taxi back to Brussels for us and promised that the price would be 25-30€ since they "knew the driver", but upon arrival the driver tells us 50€, not discussable, and tries to trick us with telling that it would be 150-200€ with a normal taxi (which wasn’t the case as we got one for 75€ later). Recommending shady people is totally unprofessional as well. This experience is by far the worst I’ve ever encountered regarding service, and I seem not to be the only one. Not taking complaints seriously just shows the kind of arrogance this place has got from the hype that all neck beard beer geeks has created. Get real for fuck’s sake!

Went there in the summertime a while ago. Great atmosphere, at least outside since it ws good wheather. We had some more of the expensive beers (You really need some cash there, it ain’t cheap) with some pretty decent food. Enjoyed the place. Will visit again if the chance is there.
