More modern than their old place, but they have still that old Dutch 60/70’s feel in a corner in the brewpub. Most of them beers on draft here.

Althought the beers are not brewed on location (or at least I think they aren’t) this is Prael brewpub, serving only their beers but brewed on different location. The location is really in the middle of the Amsterdam action, right next to the red light district. The decoration itself is worth the visit. Big heavy wood furniture, nany tables have an old radio receiver from the pre-WWII era, a lot of old ugly stuff, carpet on the wall, uglier than ugly lamps, and such. This place re-defines kitsch, as far as it can be from the “cool” Amsterdam look and vibe. Seems to coming from another era. Some snacks available but no full meals. They had 8 of their beer on tap when I was there, no guess taps or guess bottles, this is trully a location dedicated to De Prael. And unfortunately De Prael are.. welll, most bland and often just sugary sweet. The beer is not worth a detout but overall this place is worth a stop because you cannot visit Amsterdam without walking the mandatory red-light district and you’ll probably end-up walking in front of this pub at some point.

Fairly large bar with some food available and lots of seating. There’s a patio out front, some seating in the entry area, and an upstairs area with seating as well. Service here is pretty atrocious and the prices are quite high. Beers are average at best.

Large modern place a two minute walk from the station, on several levels with the brewing equipment in the back. Taster glasses of 4-5 ounces are possible.

i support the cause of this brewery and doing that while drinking a beer makes it real sinple. Had one of their beers and purchased 6 varieties for home. Service is friendly and really doing their best. Beer tasted perfect.

Perhaps a busy early Saturday evening was not the best time to visit. It was hard to get served and when I did the first two beers I chose had run out. Nevertheless, after getting a beer I also found a place at the bar. They have (nominally) about ten of their own beers. I didn’t try the food as I couldn’t read the menu board in Dutch.

Visited on a Thursday evening. Very busy. A lot of people, loud music, very noisy. Service was pretty good though some of the staff didn’t know much about beer or English. Only their own beer, but a wide selection as well as specials. A good price for central Amsterdam on the beers. Ordered a chicken skewer that came undercooked, the chicken was raw on the inside. Sent it back and the staff was nice about it though the second skewer came a bit burnt at parts. Didn’t take any chances the cook, apparently. But really, not a nice place to sit down due to the very loud music and large crowds and background noise, unfortunately.

They have 5-6 beers on tap that were decently priced during my visit in July. Maybe I’m just an arrogant American, but I was somewhat annoyed that the bartender spoke almost no English. The beers were ok, but the A/C didn’t exist, so it was a fucking inferno even in the basement. Needless to say, we didn’t stay here very long.

Liked it here. Fresh home made apple pie, home made bread wiith trappist cheese. Most of their own beers available and last but not least very friendly and knowledgable service. Affordable prices.
