A proper bar though clean for Alston. The beer list isnít huge but itís very good. The local MA selection was extensive. There were a few German monastery brews Iíve never seen anywhere. I had one. The bottle was clearly compromised. When I mentioned this to the bartender he promptly popped another bottle to test it to the same conclusion He took both back and gave me the other option which was good. I was impressed with his commitment to quality and service. The food was really good bar food. Prices were all fair. The mixed drinks looked to be quality but I didnít partake :)

Whelp, this place officially kicks ass. Walked in on a rainy December Wednesday evening...dark as hell at 4:30 pm...and that didnít stop them from dimming the lights to dungeon-like levels (love it). Thereís a very Euro feel to the place, what with itís exposed brick walls, dramatic crown molding, attractive dark wood, and old-school double blade belt-driven ceiling fans. Service was prompt, friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable. As for selection...how does 11 of the 20 drafts coming in at or under 5% ABV sound? This place must be the official hops of locally brewed session beer...what a novel concept (southern brewers take note). The food? House made charcuterie was our choice. The duck prosciutto was amazing, as was the habanero infused sausage. It was really nice to be able to order a 3.5% hoppy bitter to go with my appetizer. I could have sat there all day. Well...Iíll stop gushing over this place now, though I could certainly go on. This is a 99 percentile bar, of you ask me. Fantastic spot.....a true "must visit".

Deep ellum had a generally laid back vibe to it. My brother and I went here when I was in town. It was a tight pack inside even at an earlier time (about 7pm on a friday). Granted, part of that is because it isnít the biggest place in the world.
It wasnít too hard to get a beer. Considering the amount of people there a slight wait isnít that big of a deal. The selection was pretty nice with a lot of different domestic beers from all over along with a good belgian selection as well.
It wasnít necessarily the cheapest place, but you generally get what you pay for.

Came in here before EBF once we got into Boston. Stopped in around lunch time. Didnít stay too long as the Shortís event at Sunset was calling to us. Tap list here is not huge, but it does seem well selected and featured a good range of styles. Definitely a place Iíd like to revisit when I have time for more than just a single beer.

This place is a great neighborhood bar. the food is solid, though it used to be much better. The selection is always well thought out and plenty of rare offerings and the cocktails are in my opinion the best in Boston!

I went here for the first time last week with two friends for the Duck Rabbit/Foothills night they had for Boston Beer week. I had the Duck Rabbit Milk stout first which I really enjoyed on tap.
The place is in a very narrow long space. You walk through the front door the bar is off to the left along that wall with tables against the other wall. Straight to the back is a door that leads out to the patio area which looked really nice. The decor is simple and the the space is loud with people dining drinking and socializing.
We sat inside and ate supper. I had a bacon cheeseburger that was really good and my table mates enjoyed their food as well. They have 25 or so taps that are all craft as well as a great bottle list.
I liked the food and the simple atmosphere and the prices seemed reasonable. Compared to most bars in my area the tap list is stellar. Compared to others in the area its decent. I would certainly go back, but Iím not sure if I would make a special trip.

Visited early afternoon on a Friday. Of the 28 beers on tap, styles were varied with a mix of local, regional, and over-seas offerings. Their tap list may not be huge, but what they offer is high quality. So the selection is not that broad, but what they offer is tops. It had a great neighborhood feel to it --- small and intimate. If you are visiting from out of town and want to sample some local brews, this should not be your only stop, but it is worth a stop for a beer or two.

By far the best beer selection Iíve ever come across in the US, possibly even the world. They donít have 100 beers on tap or even in the bottle but they do have a selection of fantastic beers that represent a wide range of styles. From the novice hop head to the seasoned zymurgist, I can guarantee that anything you choose will be wonderful and most definitely unique. I should also mention that the food is fantastic. The atmosphere can get loud and the space is small making getting a seat difficult, so grab some friends and get deep early.

A wonderful bar with excellent and knowledgeable staff, great tap selection with some far out rarities, very upscale pub food. Had the Duck Confit Hash for Brunch and it was delicious. Warm atmosphere and RB (and BA) friendly.
