Definitey a nice place to check out. Delices is a small place located east of the Grand Place. There’s probably only 100 beers to choose from, but the owner has put good care into the selection. There’s a decent amount of sours and other Belgian brews available at prices that are much more reasonable than somewhere like Bier Tempel. You’re welcome to drink beer in the shop, a nice feature. The service was very good, and the owner really seemed passionate about his selection. Overall, worth a visit.

Small place, but the reviews are right - Pierre is a connoisseur and very nice to talk to. Come here for the information and for hard-to find beers. If you want the touristy shops with lots of bottles, go somewhere else. If you want to learn something new, come here!

Pierre is a Zythologue, that’s for sure. In his shop he has some beauties and rarities which are quiet hard to find somewhere else. II agee with the most of the reviews, if you’re in Brussels, you must pop in that shop.

You got to love Pierre and his beer wisdom. He has been a great inspiration to me and has, over the years, opened my taste for different beers then the usual supermarket selection. I highly recommend this place for anyone new in Brussels.

There are three main beer stores in the heart of the touristy Brussels. The more popular Bier Tempel, this less busy Beer Planet and the more beer-geek-friendly Délices et Caprices. Bier Tempel has the less interesting beer selection and is aimed more at regular tourists because of its nice selection of gift boxes, glasswares and such. Beer Planet and Délices et Caprices both have a good selection. You can score some decent items (limited Struise, etc.). Beer Planet fun to shop at with its nice display with lots of wood. I was surprised to find some cool stuff there, even by my beer-geek standards. Some hard to find Fantômes (like Saint-Roch), all the current Struise Black Damnations variations and some obscure Saisons for me to tick. Etc. I did buy some stuff that appeared to be past their prime at Beer Planet so beware. Délices et Caprices appeared to have a smaller selection but more focussed on interesting stuff. The staff seem to be more knowledgeable and is probably the place to go if you want someone to guide you through you purchase. But I didn’t find anything interesting there that I hadn’t already bought at Beer Planet. The prices are typical downtown Brussels. If you cannot go shopping at cheaper good beerstores outside the city (Alvinne, etc.) then Beer Planet + Délices et Caprices are there for you. They are very close to each other and both are worth visiting.

Worth going just for the service attending. Fantastic! You will have a classroom with Pierre. Good selection of beers, fair prices. My tip is to go first to Delices and then BeerPlanet to buy what was missing.

Maybe not the widest beer selection in town, but definitely the place to go if you want to taste great and rare beers among connoisseurs!

My wife and I decided to find this place after reading about it on Beer Advocate: really pleased we did. Its opening times could be kinder, but it suits the owner I suppose. The owner is in fact a Swiss chap who has also lived in the UK before settling in Brussels, so multi-tongued and interested in fine beers. It is firstly a beer shop, secondly a tasting room with a couple of other tables outside (only three inside): no beers on tap. We burst in and stared at the shelves of beers and glasses on show, some are also in the fridges for drinking there and then: the choices in the fridges change as and when they feel like doing so. They have a lot of the larger 75 cl bottles and cover all Belgian beer styles. I asked for a Rulles Christmas to be chilled while we had a couple of other 75 cl beers already in his fridge. Had a good chat in-between customers with both the owner and his wife, very knowledgeable and keen, been there 15 years and happy. Brussels city centre was heaving during our stay; the Christmas Market being on this was an oasis of calm. Carried out 6 big bottles and had a lovely 2 hours of drinking and selecting my bottles for home consumption. We were given some white and black pudding as we drank, a Christmas treat, we were told: nice touch. Cheap it isn’t, good it is!
