A humongous place with many sections and levels. Quite a tourist spot, so if you want to avoid the busyness, go during the day. Beer selection is pretty standard, with nothing that special available, but still some cool bottles available. Prices are a bit on the higher side; service is decent. Definitely worth a stop though after visiting the nearby Moeder Lambic Fontainas for a night of more standard beers on the cheaper side.

The place looks very nice but as it is so enormeous the service is not always what you should expect. A Belgian beer is supposed to be served in its own glass, this doesn’t happen with all the beers in this bar (which I can understand in some way).
I’ve tried some really nice beers here but prefer other places to discover a new beer.

Nice place, thought its usually very crowder on the lower floors, and the service is often not very friendly. Also we have asked for special bottles a few times and at least 2 times they were completely out of date, in a bad way.

let me explain how something can turn into the worst bierexperience yet ...
me and a friend went drinking here . just like i did every month-or-so .
we asked for a glass of tap beer each , but got in trouble , since we didnt look 18 . i told here legal drinking age in belgium is 16 , not 18 .
she replied she knew it better cause she worked in a bar
i work in a bar myself, which caused the reaction ’than you dont know your job ’..
she asked for my ID , guess what ? turns out i’m 21 .
than she started pickin on my buddy , who’s 17 ( still, legal drinking age )
i had to drink his beer ( 7.5 abv ) , and he had to drink mine ( 5 abv )
we switched it back . we order something diffrent cause we have a difftent taste, maybe ?
than she threw away his glass ( we already paid for ) and replaced it with a 5 cl pour of ’floris white ’ ( lower ABV but very crappy and cheap shit ) i threw it away right in front of her and asked my payed beer back . we were forced to leave the bar . no money refund, no beer ( now all glasses were taken ) and even a very childish ’NA NA NANANA you have no beer hahaha ’from the waitresses .... thats just sad ...
how can i give this ANY point ? what the hell do 2000 beers mean, if you can only drink what that b**** decides ? how can i give it good value, if i pay for soemthing they than imidiatly take away, without doing anything wrong ?
and o yeah . not less than 4 cops told me i was right about the 16 = beer , ABV does not matter . so i mailed them . and guess what ? they replied !
’ Please understand that it was just a mistake, sorry about RUINING your day. We’ll talk to them. You should probably let go now and consider that these things can happen. ’
if this ’ can happen ’than its nothing unusual . so its not tat bad to make it public, right , Delirium Café ?

Today I went once again to this bar I love and cherish but it turned out as a terrible experience. I went to the bar to order a Belgoo Saisonneke and my friend came with me to order a Cuvée des Trolls. In Belgium the legal age for public beer drinking is 16 and you only have to be 18 if you want to order strong alcohols over 22%... Anyway the waiter, who apparently doesn’t know anything about his job ended up asking our ID’s, stating that we had to be older than 18 to drink a beer with more than 6% alcohol. Me and my friend are both 17 so my friend couldn’t get her Cuvée de Trolls (which is about 7% alcohol) We so had to buy two Belgoo’s (4,4%) but the waiter messed up the serving and the heads were so tall the beer fled off the glass !
Eventually we managed to get another, more sympathetic waiter to serve us and my friend got her Troll but it wasn’t a good experience at all...
[old review]Basically my favourite bar. More than an average bar it’s a beer cellar ! With more than 2’000 beers available at any time this place has the biggest beer menu worldwide. The ambiance and the "scenery" are very nice and most of the time the service is good. There might sometimes be too much people but most of the time it’s alright, especially in the afternoon. I couldn’t recommend this place more. If you haven’t been there yet, if you are a beer aficionado and are spending some time near Brussels you have no excuse and simply have to go there ![/old]

Loud place with a great selection. However the first four beers that I asked for, listed both on the web site and in the menu, were not in stock. Further, the waitress behind the counter was extremely unfriendly. I got so frustrated with the ill treatment and the poor results of what up front seemed like good planning, that I ended up ordering an Abbaye des Rocs Blonde, which is available "anywhere". All in all a bad experience.

A very loud place with a lot of nice brews, I would start an evening of tics elsewhere and round it off here.
