Nice quiet little place away from the madness of the cafe. Friendly staff. Great beers. Loved it.

Monasterium is located in the Delirium complex meaning that this place is also very central and very touristy. Interior is an odd neon faux Medieval church gothic type of thing, part kitsch, part awesome. Being a Delirium location it chares some common characteristic, meaning it can get very crowded in here, service was very good but that obviously depends on who you get and they have the same obligatory handful of crappy Huyge beers on tap. Obviously this place cashes in on the trappist/ abbey hype train and offers an ok list of the standard trappist and abbey beers. Overall they serve agreeable beers that are not really worth doing extra effort for but are certainly palatable. Anyway it is clear who they cater for and these people are bound to leave very satisfied – everyone happy. Their Vodka selection is a whole other deal – about 300 different kinds to choose from – I am not an enthusiast of Vodka but I got to try some very interesting and highly commendable, craft Vodka here. Vodka is clearly the more interesting option here and I can see myself doing some future Vodka ticks here.

(Visited July & Oct 2012) Really nice bar, that is part of the Delirium complex. Interior is mainly in dark wood and stone and the atmosphere is more quiet and laid back than in the Tap Bar or the Café. Selection is quite good, with focus on Belgian abbey beers. I managed to find a fair amount of new ratings. There’s a vast selection of vodkas as well, if you’re in to that. Service was swift and efficient. This is an excellent alternative if you want to retreat from the noisier bars in the area. And compared to the Hoppy Loft, it opens quite early. Will be back.

The middle place at the Delirium Brussels location. I had no chance to try the Hoppy loft as it was closed when I visited, but compared to the classic Delirium Cafe downstair this is certainly less interesting. The ambiance is less characteristic, they do not serve same bottle selection as the Cafe and music is still loud. Only plus to this floor is the huge selection of taps and the fact that it appears to be less crowded. So easier to seat and enjoy the beer.

Mostly only ( oronly ? ) beers on tap , decent selection but not as good as upstairs or downstairs, atmosphere is also not as cool as the other 2 places.

This is the middle of the three Delirium bars at this location. They have good stuff, but not nearly as much as downstairs. The ambiance is much of the same, but all in all, downstairs to Delirium Cafe is the better choice.

When we went, it was early on in the day and completely empty. Probably not much to say about it that isn’t obvious. Interior is fake abbey/historical, all stone and wood, but the trick sort of works and it felt ok. Usual delirium music spoilt the conceit slightly! Good selection of abbey beers, and easy to find something good to have, but not sure it is worth repeated visits when there are so many other good bars around in Brussels.

Good place, but nothing so special about it. Fair selection with good prices. Still, I prefer the original delirium.

I was not thrilled by my visit there, it’s a good looking place, but the beer menu offers almost nothing interesting, it’s almost always crowded with drunk students, in every way similar to the others " delirium " from brussels. I won’t go back there.
