Located right next to the city hall & De Grote Markt this is definitely a place that you might stumble at. From the looks of it, it is a more upscale place, nicely done with modern & pricier furniture. Although the place is focussed on being a “café” in advertisement, it felt like it was edging a bit towards a combo of dining & fine beer. I must say that I didn’t bother checking what food they might have here. The patio is nicely warmed in the winter which is nice, the classier look & feel translate into a touch higher prices. Beers are on average 0.3 – 0.5 € or so pricier than in the neighbouring bars, noticeable but not overly painful or anything. Beer list shows an affiliation to Boon (including the less common Jack-Op) as well as InBev with a decent chunk of their crap. The rest of the list has some trappist beers and the more common but solid enough speciality beers. Nothing particularly rare or anything but there is enough solid stuff to get a nice drink. Service was very polite, attentive & dedicated to the right beer “protocol” etc. Definitely enough care & attention have been put into this place, honestly the place was sending me some mixed signals as to what they were trying to do. There is still the fact that De Gollem is right across the street & ’t Antwaerps Bierhuyske is only a couple of steps away. Those places are just much more attractive to beer geeks meaning that most will opt not to hang out here given the more fun options so very nearby. This place seems to be drawing its own crowd, good for them.

no revieuws yet ( lets not count the one below .. a guy with one review raving about a place = as much as admiting you lie ... )
staff is friendly and seems very much knowing about what he sells ( and the breweries he does) its a cosy place to sit . prices are OK . maybe a bit more than the average, but if we’re going to comlplain about diffrences like 0,10 euro ...
the map is rather short ,and has some serious no-go things ( leffe... ) but since its an inbev-bar, they are forced to do so . and the other things are rather nice, actualy .. so yeah , nice as a bar , but not ( yet ? ) as a beerbar. the rorating menu is going to expand, so hoping there might be something nice on it in the near fiuture . i dont expect anything like struise here , though. but that seems to not be the idea either . so its good in what it is .
