Had a few here along with dinner during a visit to Portland. Good atmosphere, but I found the service a bit lacking. The food was just ok, nothing special. Great place to grab beers, but I donít know that I would eat there again.

Awesome stop in portland. Typical brewpub but more polished and with a sweet copper brewing facility within. Most of their food incorporates their beer in some form or fashion. All their beers in tap and a couple bonus ones that are unique to the brewpub.

Super-busy, it stays crowded till close. Ambiance is fine, service is pretty good, too. Selection was nice, lots to choose from but no guest taps or bottles that I recall. Good food, not remarkable but tasty. Value was OK, expensive merch. Overall a good spot (go early or late)

The interior is large and surprisingly lively even on a hot and sunny day. We made the mistake of sitting on the sidewalk, and later realized that inside was actually better. Anyway, the highlight was they had on a very good low ABV hoppy ale (called Dry-Hopped Table Beer) and that was really good yum. The other beers we tried were alright, nothing special. In any other town of course this would be an awesome place but the bar in Portland has become high and the old school breweries are getting beaten by the young blood. Regardless, there are actually not that many good beer establishments in the Pearl and this is a worthwhile stop for sure.

Dinner on a Saturday night = one crowded joint. Luckily grabbed a small table in the bar section to throw back a couple before our table was ready. Vintage Black Butte as the specialty tap with a couple good cask offerings. Sadly the Mirror Mirror blew before I could get around to a snifter...those are the breaks. Anyway, ambiance was pretty cool - the wood carvings are amazing to look at it - just a bit too crowded to be a í5í. Service was acceptable if a bit slow - but pleasant, which is always good. Beer selection was quite impressive - about 18-20 taps and enough variety to accommodate just about anyone. Food was a slight disappointment - only 1 out of 4 people really liked what they got, and the prices arenít particularly cheap. Overall a good visit, though if I donít make it back, I wonít be too upset...

This is a very big brew pub, especially considering the size of other brewpubs nearby. I came here for a late lunch so it was not crowded but the service was attentive and awesome. Beer was obviously great and good surprising good. Definitely will be back

Feels more like a massive restaurant than a brewpub, this place is huge. Still had to wait a couple of minutes for a table though, the place was packed on a Saturday afternoon visit. A decent selection of Deschutes beers on tap, some of their in-house smaller batches as well, but no limited release vintages or anything too special. Would have wanted to taste Abyss again, but it was not available. Food was okay, but a bit pricey. Centrally located, so I guess this is worth a visit if you are in Portland. Just donít expect to find anything too special here.

Beautiful place that was packed with all different types, from families, seniors, young couples, and college kids. Very high energy level and the service was great. I was disappointed by the absence of the Abyss and Obsidian on the tap list, but I was pleasantly surprised how good fresh Black Butte tasted.

Visited early on a Thursday evening, and, wow, was it ever packed with customers! Very busy bar area, with two TVs showing sports. So noisy that people had to shout to each other. Nicely designed, though, with massive wooden beams, ceiling fans, and NW-themed carved post and lintel "gates" into the dining area. 20 taps going: six "classics" / one seasonal / two casks / 10 "brewersís choices / one "pub reserve". Special bottles, too, including the latest Abyss. This place is great for trying pub exclusive brews, which wonít show up elsewhere and most of which are very good, some of which are great. Good, limited, pub food menu, with local ingredients and several items made with Deschutes beers or beer ingredients -- but food is a bit pricey here. The big problem is the crowds and the noise (hence the low ambiance score). Sort of a mix of families and very loud yuppies, with the yuppies barking and snarking at each other. I wouldnít even try to imagine what itís like on weekend nights. Go early and get out before it fills up.
