80 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 12/15 FOOD 8/10 VALUE 8/10 OVERALL 16/20 JFParnell (18) Washington | November 21, 2011 Great place to get stone cooking and good beer. Place has peanut shells on the floor and a good pub atmosphere. Food is really good, unfortunately they did away with their espresso encrusted steak, our favourite. Still a great place. | 80 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 12/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 8/10 OVERALL 16/20 CampesinoTino (71) Seattle, Washington | August 14, 2011 Great spot to hang out and enjoy some quality beers while in Mukilteo. Highlights of the sampler platter include the Industrial IPA, Whip Ale and Hefeweizen. Will definitely return to try the Winter Ale and Barley Wine when they’re on tap. | 78 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 10/10 SELECTION 10/15 FOOD 10/10 VALUE 9/10 OVERALL 15/20 mabel (211) Toronto, Ontario | July 13, 2011 2010-07. Visited on a Thursday afternoon last July, this wonderfully located brewpub lets you stone-grill your own sandwiches or you can choose from a bunch of hand-tossed pizzas, with free soup available on Thursdays. They had just opened for the day and were very happy to serve us nearly a dozen of their own brews along with a tasty South Pacific and Carnivore pizza, with the IPA being particularly noteworthy. Would love to return one day. | 70 AMBIANCE 3/5 SERVICE 7/10 SELECTION 11/15 FOOD 7/10 VALUE 7/10 OVERALL 14/20 MartinT (521) Montreal, Quebec | March 2, 2011 Rather downtrodden building from the outside, but actually cozy inside. Feels lived in, not exceedingly aesthetic, which I like. The brews we had were all decent, but nothing special. All went quite well with the greasy pizzas. Very much a locals’ hangout near the pier. Oh, the urinal, an open keg of Anheuser-Busch’s, is hilarious! | 86 AMBIANCE 5/5 SERVICE 9/10 SELECTION 11/15 FOOD 9/10 VALUE 9/10 OVERALL 18/20 flyer50 (48) Seattle, Washington | October 31, 2010 I’ve been going here for years. Industrial IPA was on the forefront of the double/imperial IPA rage. Great place for a meal- I recommend the hotstone items, but the pizza is good too. Has the best urinal in the world- bar none! (you just got to see it) | 66 AMBIANCE 3/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 10/15 FOOD 7/10 VALUE N/A OVERALL 12/20 jercraigs (234) Toronto, Ontario | July 17, 2010 2010-06. Nice taverny feel inside, like what you might find in a beach town? Server is super friendly and animated. Pizzas were great, The Carnivore rocked. The Pacific would have been better with tomato sauce rather than BBQ sauce. Free soup day! The signature dishes seemed to be the hot stone cooking yourself option which freaked us out enough that we didn’t find it all that appealing. (What if you under cook it?) Free wifi! Beers were a bit disappointing to be honest, a few standouts but a good number of poor ones as well. Glad we went but I wouldn’t go as out of our way to go back as we did on this trip. | 76 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 11/15 FOOD 7/10 VALUE 7/10 OVERALL 15/20 miketd (124) Cleveland, Ohio | May 26, 2010 Place looks like a dive from the outside, but inside it’s all about good beer and food. We had sandwiches where you cook the meat on a heated stone... cool and different. The beer was surprisingly good and the service was great too. The area surrounding is very scenic and it’s definitely worth a trip. | 70 AMBIANCE 1/5 SERVICE 10/10 SELECTION 12/15 FOOD 2/10 VALUE 4/10 OVERALL 12/20 22415brewery (31) redmond, Washington | November 2, 2009 It’s all about the beer. Forget ambiance. I felt like I was sitting in a mobile-home extension to a community Bingo hall. Drafty, cold, painfully florescent-lit and bright, the astroturf carpeting sure didn’t add much to the ambiance, but it definitely caught the shells from our $1.25 bowl of peanuts. The surroundings were as romantic as a scene where a sailor finally gets one day of shore leave after being in the service for 2 years and stumbles into the nearest bar to port only to find a toothless etc. etc...you get the idea. We did have this amazing cave-man-like cheesesteak that was brought out on a hot granite stone that cooked the meat in front of our eyes. That part was pretty cool and I highly recommend the stone grill to everyone. The IPA and IIPA were phenomenal, top notch and well worth the drive....I wasn’t so hip on their other offerings...some had severe flaws and off flavors. We also split a pizza that was suppose to have blue cheese which tasted pretty ok, but their usage of bleu cheese dressing instead of blue cheese crumbles was definitely "different". Go for the beer, close your eyes and drink. | 78 AMBIANCE 3/5 SERVICE 7/10 SELECTION 14/15 FOOD 7/10 VALUE 5/10 OVERALL 15/20 tongatim (14) Bellingham, Washington | September 12, 2009 Outstanding beer is the thing here. This little place cranks out some consistently great beers, aided by the nearby brewery expansion. The food is tasty and fun, though pricey. Funky, cozy atmosphere. The biggest downside is that the seating is pretty uncomfortable if there’s a crowd. | 82 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 12/15 FOOD 8/10 VALUE 8/10 OVERALL 17/20 Nena (20) Seattle, Washington | August 14, 2009| Updated August 30, 2009 A small place in a beautiful location by the sound. It doesn’t look like very much either inside or outside, but is comfortable with heavy wooden tables. The biggest disadvantage is parking. With the ferry, beach, and other businesses you may have to struggle to find a spot. They serve a sublime IPA, both the regular and "industrial", and have very good pizza. I love a beer with spicy food and personally recommend the jalapeno and pepperocini laden "chainsaw massacre" pizza. Prices are reasonable, and the service is good. |
