Nice selection of German and German-inspired beers. Most welcoming place I’ve been to in Romania so far. The oompah music needs to go though...

There were 140 beer altogether (12 in tap). Happy Bavarian furniture and paintings on the wall, ’altars’(?) with rare beers. I liked it very much. You can find it easy in the centre of Brasov.

A family friendly german inspired pub in Brasov, very close to the busy part of old Brasov, but removed enough to offer a much quieter environment. Rather large beer menu that goes on for pages and pages, 100+ bottles. Food menu is typical german-style pub fare (sausages, etc.) of sub-par quality (most food pretty much sub-par in Romania). We a meal there once and the following days we went back to sit on the beautiful patio during sunny days, food wasn’t worth a second try. Beer selection is as expected focused on german beers, even included a few oddities that I was surprised to see in Romania. I visited this place at least three times and according to my ratings I had Hutthurmer Kulinator, Andechser Dunkles Weissbier, Andechser Weissbier Hefetrüb, Primátor Stout, Löwenbräu Triumphator, Andechser Doppelbock Dunkel, and certainly a bunch that I had already rated. As usual in Romania, a lame tap selection. They claim that they have a house beer and they sell it as such, for cheap and in a large 1L format, I asked the staff and tried to find out who brew this Die Stube beer but I couldn’t get a clear answer other than “it’s our special beer made for us”, it’s a german hefe that tastes like many other german hefe, I seriously doubt that it is a real house-beer, more like an existing beer renamed Die Stube at the pub, but if you learn more about it please bm me, I’ve got a paper rating for this beer! Worth a visit especially on a sunny day for the nice patio. If you’re looking for a place a little more lively (less family friendly) then Fusion/Musik Café is the place to go, about 5 minute walk from Die Stube. I also had a good time at For Sale Pub (see http://forsalepub.ro/v2/) but I’m not adding it to ratebeer because the beer selection is not ratebeer worthy (although very much above average for Romania).

Great find in Brasov, found it with beerdar. Wandering around town and there it was. Their Schlenkerla marzen is in top form and we probably drank them out of supply. Also have other tasty German beers in good form, including the full Andechs portfolio. There is another beer place in Brasov that has Schlenkerla but it was not as fresh; this is the go-to beer bar in Brasov. The menu leaves something to be desired, but we returned several times during our stay in this charming town.

Die Stube is here to share with you the taste and charm of beer, the stories surrounding it, as pure lust for life, and an essential drip of Bavarian culture, aroma and tradition. That’s why Die Stube calls a cool deep Ratskeller and a pleasant Biergarten in the shadow of the trees its own and offers you more than 30 sorts of beer from all over the world. Pilsner, Weizen, Export, Lager, Ale, Radler, Märzen, Bock, Altbier, Stout, Kölsch or Lambic; we try to keep our barrels filled with the stuff that you’ve been wanting for some time now. Die Stube is a permanent beer festival, a restaurant with international flavour and a little more than just that! Come over to convince yourself!
