One of the great brewpubs. We were lucky to get seats at the beer mid-Tuesday evening. Very happy smokeless and as full as it was, that we could actually talk to each other and to the bartendress. Great 6-ounce samples of excellent beer, good food, cliquey and private but congenial. Unless you are a regular, you probably do not want to come here by yourself, whereas that is much more common in other bars. Ten of 15 taps were active, not the cask. The guest beer was reasonably priced. Service is very good. DDC bottles a couple blocks away at Rahman, and parking is best a couple blocks out. A must-visit.

Although I was dissapointed not to get my Aphrodisiaque, I did get a sample of all 13 beers they had and was really happy with all of them. This place has a wonderful vibe and although i have yet to put in my ratings yet for any of these reviews, nothing will get below a 3, everything is top notch. The one beer that was weird tasted like absinthe, but who cares. All i can say is wow!

This is THE GOAT of all brew pubs. This place couldnít make a bad beer if it tried. How can you top a brew pub that has a small two bedroom apartment right on top if that they rent out by the night, week or month. After getting drunk downstairs I somehow navigated the steepest narrowest stairway Montreal has three nights in a row without killing myself. The owner Stefan personally tapped a keg of Peche Mortel and served Dikinsonbeer, Glouglouburp and myself 3 glasses of the best beer the Earth has to offer. Larry the assistant brewer was nice enough to accompany us on a drunken pub crawl around the city. I am getting a little teary eyed thinking about that weekend because it will be impossible to top. Yeah this brew pub rocks!!!!!!

Nice, dark brown wood pub with a rather plain and bare interior. Simple wooden chairs and tables, and a real student vibe. Definitely loud, because of conversation, not too smoky. The beer selectio on any given evening is not too big, but the beers are very good. I remember service as better than you could expect in such a crowded place.

Dieu du Ciel is THE must go to brewpub in Quebec if you ask me. They have a good dozen or so beers of there own making, with lots of seasonals and one time beers. Their smoked beed was the best Ive had outside of Bamberg. Their kriek beer is exceptional. Has been pretty crowded the few times Ive been there, but the waitresses keep up well.

Visited last November. They opened at 4 - we were there at 3 and waited. Extremely wide selection (I seem to remember the full 12 listed above) - tried three and was not disappointed. Didnít try the food. Didnít have any of the crowd or noise mentioned here - we played with the scrabble boards they provided us. Iíll be back again.

A cozy, if unremarkable, little pub with seating for probably 100 people at most (and that would be pushing it I think). We got there pretty late on Saturday and got a table for 6 without a wait. I was surprised considering the descriptions of how crowded this place gets. 12 house-brewed beers on tap. We all shared around the table, so I got to try everything. All beers were well above average, and the selection catered to all palates. Music was good, mostly rock alternative. Crowd was chilliní. Love the new no-smoking rule in Montreal! Didnít try the food. Knowing that they change the beer selection regularly, I would make it a point to return. I was not disappointed, although I must admit that the place itself didnít have nearly the character I had imagined it would-- a pretty ordinary pub with some extraordinary beers.

Based on the ratings I was expecting this place to be great. I made a special trip to try their beer and I have to say I was disappointed. The beer list was different then what the website said, which sucked, cause the best beer they had listed on the site wasnít available. The food was pretty limited, if you donít like cheese, donít order. The selection was nice for a brewpub, but having some variety might be a bit nicer. You want a REAL brewpub? Go to BRUTOPIA, I was there for 3 nights and spent the first and third nights there (after visiting Dieu du Ciel on the second night).

Iím not really sure how this is one of the worlds best brew pubs. There are about 12-15 tables in there and when I was there, there were about 100 people in there. Most people were standing. It was really hot and the music was so loud you couldnít hear the people you were sharing a table with. I feel that maybe much of the high ratings come from the beers, which were world-class. Next time Iím in Montreal, Iíll try to stop by when itís earlier in the day, I have a feeling that 10:00pm on a Friday wasnít a good choice to start with. I will re-rate then.

Situated in a smallish building, this place always seems to have great beers on. Even this last time I was there, where they were mainly featuring guest taps, the selection was great as was the ambiance. It was also great to get to hang out with some great Ratebeerians while there!
