Wow. 13 beers on tap, plus one on the handpump. Even if they didn’t have 6 other bottled and tap selections for us at the RBSG I don’t think I’d hesitate giving a perfect score for selection. Service gets a ten for the fact that they’re willing to do something this special for us beer geeks, plus the wait staff did a great job. And even the food was pretty good. Not only will I be back whenever I’m in Montreal, but I’ll be trying to get back to Montreal more often because of this place.

Guys, I have to be honest. I hated the atmosphere in this place because it is way way too smokey, and I could find nothing listed on the chalkboard that night that I wanted to try out that is highly listed at this website. Aphrodisiac is only brewed on Valentine’s day. I had one beer and split after 10 minutes. There are average smokey pubs but that night it was beyond real, and it was a small place and very loud as far as talking.

The RateBeer Summer Gathering moved in here an hour before it opened to the public and stayed for many hours. Service was as good or better than any large group should expect. The brewmaster is knowledgeable and friendly and he keeps a long list of well crafted and varied styles on tap. The only negative is the smoke level as the place became more crowded.

Small corner entrance in a part of town that has an old European style... but that’s pretty much all of Montreal. But the impression I got from stepping outside while drinking my stout in the rain was just calm and relaxed. Wood everywhere on the interior, with the brewing setup located next to the bar. A bit cramped, but not a problem really. The bar was small but looked very cool. Service was great considering how many folks were present for the RBSG, and the beer quality goes without saying. Definitly a place I would like to live near.

RBSG05. Quite possibly the best beer drinking experience I have ever had. Medium lighting, nice bar area. Friendly and well trained (and beautiful) staff. We kept them very busy and they didn’t miss a beat. Plus the fact that the place had a 20 liter keg of Peche Mortel and 5 or 6 other rarities especially for us was incredible. The beer was great and not too bad as far as the price was concerned. I did not eat although the bagels and other food looked quite good. I will be back. I don’t care how, I’ll be back.

If I lived in Montreal I’d be here all the time, which happens to be the case with many Montrealers. Lots of interesting beers on tap you could never really get bored as they switch it up quite a bit and all are good to AMAZING. I was excited to see the Peche Mortel in a one year aged bottle and it was certainly mind blowing. The thing that’s even better is that all the beers are pretty cheap too! You can choose half-pint, pint, or sample size... depending on the particular style that you choose. Laid back atmosphere. It wasn’t too busy when we went as it was during Mondial and still pretty early in the evening but that was to our advantage as the beers are cheaper at that time and it wasn’t overly smoky which I’m told is a major problem when it’s packed in there...since EVERYONE in Montreal/Quebec smokes. I had a Fairmount bagel with cheese and smoked salmon - that was superb! This is simply a must visit for anyone.

Small pub with wooden chairs and tables. Attractive. 10 beers on tap including one guest tap. Moderately priced and good service. Only smokey when I was smoking. Had a jambon sandwich which was large and pretty good for a snack. A nice visit.

Amazinlgy cozy, clean, classy and unpretentious corner bar. I had picturd a huge, fancy, adorned all brass and what-not brewpub, but this had a wonderful, intimate feel. Smaller selection, but still respectable, with some unique styles on. Didnt try the food. Taking a tour of the brewing facility, it is by far the most immaculate facility I have ever seen. Good prices, samplers available, friendly bar tenders. Can’t think of a bad thing to say about this place, except that it’s 6 hours away from me!
