Classical pub with wooden interior. During my visit there was some kind of semi-private party going on, but I got served without problem. Seems to be visited mainly by locals. Good cask selection, had very interesting Plum Porter from Titanic. Worth visiting.

Cracking alehouse, not far from Lime Street station and the sort of pub that seems to be getting rare in this day and age. Basic one room pub with a raised seating area at the back, this place is all about the ale. My pints of Titanic Plum Porter were pure nectar, Camra types would be in seventh heaven. Had a chat with Dave the landlord and found him affable enough, as were most of the customers. Definitely a return for me, on my next visit to Liverpool

Traditional pub with a heavy light wooden design throughout, complimented by traditional wooden furniture. Itís not as well kept as perhaps other pubs of this ilk in the area, but thatís part of the charm of the place and itís certainly no less of a place for it. Thereís a good choice of real ales here and thatís a reason many come here, complimented by a keg option a few worthy bottles. Two of the hand pumps are at the side of the bar and are not immediately obvious. The bar area to the front gives way to a part partitioned seating area to the rear, but itís all in the same large ceilinged roof.

Solid boozer that had a great range of casks in top condition. Friendly and chatty bar staff. Snacks available at the bar. Paid a couple of visits during my stay.

Nice little boozer. Real old-school in vibe. Diverse drinkers in attendance. Good, traditional cask beers available. Lots of classical pub ephemera as decor. Satisfactory staffing. Good lighting, adequate seating. Pretty easy to find. Definitely one of my favorite places in Liverpool.

this pub seems to have come good after cains stopped brewing as a good selection of ales available. ornate interior with dispensary style wooden bar. Well used by the looks of it and multiple award winner.

An inviting city central, corner pub with a local feel visited by a mixed clientele. Seven well-kept cask ales from Cains (only two), George Wright, Titanic, and other breweries from the northwest. The beer menu is displayed on a blackboard at the bar. An outstretched single room containing the lovely Victorian bar area, and a TV section to the rear of the room. Friendly service. The pub takes pride in having been the Liverpool Camra Pub of 2010 and 2011. A good banter (Visited, 09.04.2013).
