A decent place to stop if you are looking for steakhouse fare, but be prepared to pay a premium for it. A decent selectino of in house brews ranging from fair to good. Good steak, good cornbread. I miss their pizza as it gave you a less expensive option for dining.

Like an upscale Gordon Biersch. It certainly has a nice decor, though the beer wasnít the best.

Not the greatest beer in the world. Also, not the greatest place in the world. Greatest places are few and far between. Yes.

Visited July 2011.
I was treated to dinner here and the food definitely did not disappoint. The house beers were all middle of the road but they had a couple of interesting styles like a barrel aged stout. The best beer was probably the IPA and the worst was the light lager. The servers were very friendly. The bathroom situation is kind of strange. You have to take an elevator downstairs to the basement to find it and itís one of those old types where you slide the door open yourself. Over all a pretty nice restaurant with good food but the prices are high and the beer isnít great.

After hitting up The Iron Horse, I went to the ChopHouse. Iíd planned on visiting this place years ago but just never got around to doing it. First off, this is a steakhouse. The prices are high, but not insane for the downtown DC area. There were something around 7 of their own house beers on the menu - had one with my meal. This was the first meal in probably two years where I took food home with me - portions are pretty large.

I had been to the Cleveland location 3 years ago and since closed and frankly had the impression of traveling in the past as soon as I passed the doorframe here. The same high ceiling, nice tiled floors, huge place with leatherette benches, black and white well dressed staff, large empty bar and dark brown wooden furniture in a steakhouse atmosphere. I have eaten at neither location for both seem to be on the very high side of the pricing scale albeint in downtown DC, I can understand why. We visited on a Sunday evening, around 9pm and it was almost empty. I tried the pilsner and bourbon stout which were both really honest examples. Joking, friendly bartender, obviously a bit blasť. I canít say the experience was thrilling, but I was not disappointed either since the beer met expectations. I do not envision myself staying there for a session though, unless I was depressed or meant to become depressed.

I sat at the bar at this steakhouse/brewpub. Upscale establishment. They have 9 of their own beers on tap. I had 2 pints and the bartender was nice enough to give me samples of several others. Most were pretty good. I had their burger which was excellent (get it with the bacon). Cool place, but a bit pricy, so good on an expense account.

Patty and I took Erica here for her 20th B-Day Dinner. No she did not have beer. We got asked for our beer order as soon as walkd up to the bar, even though they were pretty packed and we had to wait a 1/2 hour to get a table. The beers I had were very good, and were $6 pints Our table service was kind of slow. The food came out hot and made to our liking. Nice classy looking place. Most were dressed better than us. We had just spent all day hiking the museum trail and were very thirsty. Had to take an elevator to the bathroom. That was different.

More the feel of an upmarket restaurant than a brewpub! The beers however were all full of flavour and of good quality. The food was a nice change from burgers and pizza.

Food is quite good and complimentary bread is a fresh-baked pan of cornbread. Table service is good, but upstairs bar service is terrible. The house beers are below-average craft.
