80 AMBIANCE 3/5 SERVICE 10/10 SELECTION 13/15 FOOD 6/10 VALUE 9/10 OVERALL 14/20 bmerz (118) Brooklyn, New York | December 8, 2012 This place is a head scratcher. It’s really a local bar in low rent suburb but with a very clear and intent focus on a high quality tap list, particularly local IPAs. It’s cool in a it’s-so-uncool-it’s-cool-kinda-way. It seems like it should be in a movie. The bar tenders were great. The food...bad bar food but whatever. I’d stop back for sure. | 90 AMBIANCE 5/5 SERVICE 9/10 SELECTION 13/15 FOOD 8/10 VALUE 8/10 OVERALL 18/20 thefederalist (12) Jonesboro, Arkansas | July 8, 2012 When we first arrived, the place looked fairly empty, but only because everybody was sitting outside in the little fenced area behind the pub. There were a couple of great dogs out there splayed out on the concrete tied to one of the tables. Most of the outside tables were full but our service was fast and the girls at the bar were very friendly and knowledgable about beer. The selection isn’t enormous, but everything has clearly been purpose selected. Everything they have is quality craft beer. Food was great, fresh, interesting, but down to earth. | 86 AMBIANCE 5/5 SERVICE 9/10 SELECTION 12/15 FOOD N/A VALUE N/A OVERALL 17/20 curly (114) Kirkland, Washington | January 30, 2012| Updated December 9, 2012 Nice small bar with a few tables. Maybe 25 well thought out beers on tap. | 74 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 6/10 SELECTION 12/15 FOOD 8/10 VALUE 7/10 OVERALL 15/20 Prime (2) Kent, Washington | December 9, 2011| Updated December 9, 2012 Excellent selection if you can get someone to bring you a beer. They don’t seem to have tables assigned to the staff, rather they just deal with anyone who needs service. Because of this sometimes you are extremely well taken care of and sometimes you might as well not exist. Enjoy the food that I’ve had so far. Parking is very difficult. | 74 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 6/10 SELECTION 13/15 FOOD 7/10 VALUE 8/10 OVERALL 14/20 TheRealMGD (58) Lakewood, Washington | March 4, 2011| Updated December 9, 2012 After a couple of visits I think I have a handle on this place. The selection is very good, but not everything is fresh (or else the lines need to be cleaned/changed). The food is also variable and ranges from basic pub fare to pretty damned good. Beer knowledge among staff is variable. Atmosphere is pretty interesting: there is a living room-ish area, an eating area with two and four person tables, a pool table and a decent-sized bar. Parking is horrible. I’d recommend this place as a great stop for craft beers in Renton, but have to admit that you may find aspects to be hit or miss. | 86 AMBIANCE 5/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 15/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 5/10 OVERALL 15/20 tenchiro (8) Providence, Rhode Island | May 23, 2010| Updated December 9, 2012 One of the best beer selections in Renton, and prior to outlawing smoking in bars and restaurants in the Seattle metro area one of the only smokeless places around.
It is convenient if you are a local but if you are coming in from Seattle, it is way out of the way of anything resembling a nightlife. | 82 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 9/10 SELECTION 12/15 FOOD 7/10 VALUE 8/10 OVERALL 16/20 CheersMate (147) Fremont (Seattle), Washington | December 23, 2009| Updated December 9, 2012 Received a warm round of applause while walking in this place; I am actually being quite serious about that as well. Nice and small place. Great tap list selection I must say. The service was awesome, and the people were awesome as well. For a place in Renton, this was a great experience. Since I plan on moving to Washington this upcoming summer, I believe I will be stopping in quite frequently. | 74 AMBIANCE 3/5 SERVICE 7/10 SELECTION 12/15 FOOD 7/10 VALUE 7/10 OVERALL 15/20 Feinschmecker (53) Seattle, Washington | October 24, 2009| Updated December 9, 2012 Strange mix of beer geeks and regulars. The food is ok. The beer is often outstanding considering this is Renton, no offense Renton. They even have some hard to find seasonal on draft. The decor could be better, but that is because it is about the beer, I guess | 88 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 9/10 SELECTION 13/15 FOOD 7/10 VALUE 5/10 OVERALL 18/20 hebron (2) | February 21, 2009| Updated December 9, 2012 Nice little pub with a great selection on tap. Parking can be a bit tough. Staff is friendly and the service is fast. | 88 AMBIANCE 5/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 13/15 FOOD 7/10 VALUE N/A OVERALL 18/20 CapFlu (190) Victoria, British Columbia | November 10, 2007| Updated December 9, 2012 A great little pub. We hit it upon returning from Jimi Hendrix’s grave. Tiny little parking lot, enough for 8 or so cars with not much room to pass. The interior is typical English-style local pub - with a couple exceptions: the tap line-up is phenomenal and the George Bush countdown clock is a priceless addition. Many smaller Washington micros on tap. The food was pretty good and very comparable to Canadian prices. A great introduction. |
