A nice pub with a good selection of craft beer, both on tap and in bottles. But, I didnít find any new ticks this evening. Most beers available were "old classics" and beer easy available at the Vinmonopolet stores. Ok, I found som 75 cl bottles in the beer menu, but sadly I had no one to share with. Will for sure visit again when Iím in Oslo. Maybe Iím more lucky with the tap list next time? (Visited December 5th 2014)

In the last couple of years, Dr. Jekyllís have moved on from being just an exceptionally good whisky bar to becoming an equally exceptional beer bar. The bar usually offers 5-6 good Norwegian craft beers on draught (∆gir, NÝgne ō, HaandBryggeriet) and they even plan to add another tower with 5-10 beer taps. But it is their amazing 200+ bottled beer menu that really makes this pub one of the best in Oslo - theyíve got real Belgian sours (Geuze, Kriek) and abbey ales, plenty of US craft beer (Boulevard, Bruery, Westbrook) in addition to many Norwegian, Danish and British micros. You can spend a week here without exhausting the beer menu. And the bartenders are fairly knowledgable about their beer too so Dr Jekyllís is a truly great bar for beer and whisky, centrally located in Oslo near Nationaltheatret. Last visited: 2014-02-22.

That pub was an unexpected nice experience. In the heart of the touristy Oslo, only two minute walk from the classic Amundsen Bryggeri pub. They donít carry an extensive beer menu like Amundsen but I found a few nice beers that were not available at Amundsen. Tap-list is disappointing, only two boring taps. Bottle list can be interesting but like many places in Norway, they donít maintain a beer list menu, you have to bend over the bar and spot something in the many beer fridges and find items you want. Fortunately I visited the pub early and the super friendly and very knowledgeable bartender took the time to run me through their beer list. I had a bottle of Evil Twin Omnipollo Russian Roulette (Black IPA version) and something else. Free wifi from the hotel in front (!) as suggested to me by the bartender, A few couches on the sidewalk where 10 people at most can drink outside looking at the busy street. A very nice back patio surrounded by walls. Warm and inviting british-style pub interior. Many cool things here but the coolest thing about this pub is the bathroom door, greatest bathroom door ever, thereís a wall in the back of the pub that looks like large bookshelf, part of this fake bookshelf is actually a door, no indication where the door is, kind of like a hidden door to go to the bathroom, locals sitting in the pub had to show me how to open the bathroom door. Cool. I liked this place.

Although mainly a whisky bar, they have a decent amout of beer. Got some good ones from US, like a couple from Lost Abbey. Prices are reasonable in a Norwegian standard.

Went for a beer tasting in the basement so I didnít spend that much time around the bar. What I noticed was a quite nice selection of bottles and one/two taps from NÝgne ō. The staff was nice enough, a little inattentive on this occasion. I might go back for a whiskey or beer tasting in the future, but probably not on a regular basis. However, nice enough place if youíre in the area.

Dr Jekyllís Pub is terribly managed and shows no respect to customers. We are from Australia and our local friends are the regular customers of this bar, highly recommended it to us. So we were just standing at the corner drinking enjoying ourselves. Despite a few drunken people harassing us, the security started to force our local friend out by pulling his arm. We were the most sober people and he insisted we had too much to drink. After complaining, the manager showed up with a beer in the hand and bloodshot eyes obviously had more drinks than us. He was unable to answer our questions but turned back to the bar. Two local police showed up but apparently were connected to the bar and just asked us to move to another place. We have been travelling around the world and one of us is managing director and the others is Vice President of multi-nation companies. We canít imagine this happening in a highly developed country like Norway, Dr Jekyllís Bar treat customers with such violence with no respect. There is corruption going on as well because not only the local police refused to help but accused us Ďbeing aggressiveí. For God sake, we are the victims of violence and we being aggressive?? My local friends were totally stunt and we are disheartened. In certain way, Dr Jekyllís bar has no difference with ones in a third world country. Please do NOT go to this bar or you will just be humiliated by the freaks running the bar.
