64 AMBIANCE 3/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 8/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 6/10 OVERALL 13/20
Visited this shop, renowned in the Waasland region, for the first time today, as they are the only distributor of Stallhagen Historic Beer 1843 since this week. Good range of alcoholic beverages in general, beers are limited to Belgian breweries, but some of the minor ones are represented, as are some lambics (albeit the ’usual suspects’); honestly speaking, I was expecting a lot less. Very friendly, helpful and efficient service too. I’d place this at the same level as Fontana in Sint-Niklaas: decent if you happen to be in the neighborhood and want to grab a few Belgian ales home with you, but not worth a trip to Lokeren as such. I assume the second shop they established in Beveren is more or less comparable, but I have yet to visit that one.
