A lot of great beer available at very reasonable prices. Also a bunch of rare American beers you don’t really find anywhere else. Great shop and place.

Classic Ghent beer shop founded by the brother of the man who started the namesake café at Rokerelstraat in the eighties. Their range has evolved a lot throughout the years; ten years ago, I was already impressed by their selection of large, rare Belgians, nowadays they added a very eclectic range of foreign beers as well (apart from still an impressive selection of rare Belgians...). Prices are moderate for Belgian brews yet can be on the high side for foreign craft beers, but this does not bother me if I can purchase whales like Dark Lord, Pliny the Elder, Bourbon County Proprietor’s, Black Tuesday or Speedway Barrel Aged here (the merit of a former Ratebeerian, clearly). Very friendly and helpful staff too, and they also deliver at home nowadays. Remains my favorite beer shop in Eastern Flanders.

Good place to visit when you’re in the Ghent area. Was rather on its peak a few years ago. Now it’s clearly surpassed by place like De Coninck, DeCaigny and Geers. I’d recommend going to one of these instead. Nice selection of foreign brews though. Selection of lambieks isn’t that impressive. Ignace, the guy responsible for the beers, is a very friendly guy and if you need any advice, ask him, he’ll be able to help you out!!

Nestled away in a side street in Ghent lies this beer behemoth; its shelves overflowing with many and various beers! All the best beers from Belgium, Holland, USA, some British beers and beers from beyond are here. The sour selection is vast! Not only will you find beer here but enough materials to start brewing there and then! I had arranged a visit through BoBoChamp and he was extremely hospitable and walked round the shop assisting and generally easing the agonizing pain of choice. The man goes above and beyond to bring people good beer and that shows. Picked up Focal Banger and The Crusher on my visit - not many people can say that about a beer shop in Europe! The prices were fair; if not excellent! Will go back again whenever time/opportunity allows.

Visited 5 sept 2014> Dont know the hype, OK they got some nice beers but the prices are really high, I went to Geers and Bierhalle De Coninck before going to this place and the others where much cheaper. Slection was nice though and the little museum thingy they had going was entertaining.

Broad selection of beers, also from micro-breweries and international. Prices can be higher then other beer stores.

Good shop with a very nice selection of beers. Good knowledge of the beers and always prepared to help you find something. They tie with Geers for best beershop in/around Gent and the whole of Belgium for that matter.

MESSAGE FOR FOREIGNERS VISITING GENT: if you read this, you’re probably planning a visit to Belgium, and Gent in particular. I’m always interested to get to know other ratebeerians, and if you come from an interesting country, we can maybe to an in person beer trade? Contact me!

Excellent place, fairly central, fortunately has a car park. The usual Belgian barn of a place, but in amongst the plethora of pretty standard crates a few interesting choices, both local micros and international selections.

A very good selection of Belgian and foreign beers at fair prices. Had a couple of very hard to get American beers that were a bit pricey though. Service is very friendly. Definitely worth a visit.
