Nice store in Ghent with a huge selection of beers. Very friendly guy working in there despite us coming in right before he was closing for lunch. Great selection of De Molen, Mikkeller, De Struise, and Nogne. Did not see any Japanese or US beers like mentioned below, but I was in awe of all the great European selections. There is also a small section for homebrewing. And I mean small, but probably adequate for amateurs. Plus with the selection of beer here, you probably wonít be brewing anything for a few years while you plow through the different beers. Also a bunch of wine. Probably good stuff, but I didnít look. Prices on beer were way better than a bunch of stores that specialize in beer. I would much rather shop at this gem of a place then go to Brussels to hit the top two stores there.

If youíre in Gent, this is a "must" for any beer lover to do your shopping. Huge collections, and always found some "rarities". The staff are very helpfull. Also a good place to find the right glassware. One of my favourite places in Belgium for shopping.

A must if you are in Ghent. Wonderful warehouse style store spacious and well laid out. On my two visits in June 2010, there were at least 15 "exclusives"- bottles from breweries that were not for sale elsewhere. Easy walk/bike ride from the Ghent tourist scene.

When studying at the Gent University, this was my favorite place to walk to. I drank about everithing they had to offer, which was (and still is) a lot. The store is more cosy than Geers, but the beerlist is slightly smaller. still enormous though, and de Hopduvel lies within the city centre. A must do!

Today it was the first time I got in to this shop. Itís a 35 minute drive, but it was worth it! Got some beers I had on my wishlist allready for a while. Got a conversation with one of the guys working there. Was very clear he knows a lot about beer also, gave me some tips, and we had a good talk about beers. When I asked about Tsarina Esra, they told me they were not for sale right now, but after a little talk I got me 2 little bottles, thank you. Got a beer I want to be my 100th rating, was thinking I should never find it... They have a huge collection of beers, ofcourse :) Best shop iíve visited till now! Edit: After visiting a lot i need to update, and give some extra points. The prices are sometimes a bit to high...

After visiting the Brussels beer shops this was heaven on earth. Lots of Black Albert 2.50e, Pannepot Gran Reserva 2.80e. Most everything else in .375L bottles well under 2e. Easily reached by Tram #4 from the train station (Gent St.Pieters) with a stop across the canal by the long blue footbridge. Phenomenal glassware selection at near half the cost of the Brussels shops. Very warm and helpful check-out person was the only other person I saw! Perfect finish to a beautiful daytrip to Gent is stocking up here, taking the tram to the station, and having a tap or two at the Castel before heading out.
