I just love this place. Exactly how a pub should look and feel. Great space, great food, friendly and knowledgeable servers...oh yeah, and good diverse beer too. Not the most taps in town, of course, but what they have is very good. And theyíre one of the only places in town that almost always has a cask of real ale. Check it out.

Great food. Usually a good selection from about 12 taps along with a great variety of bottled beer selections as well. I would recommend this place.

Well worth the trip to the Central West End. A very neat pub with a lot of history. The bartender, Brandon, was very friendly and helpful with our beer selection. There were about a dozen taps, and several bottled beers to choose from. The chips were very good as well. Would visit again when we are in the area.

Dresselís is located on Euclid in the Central West End, a great neighborhood to walk around. The bar is in a really nice, wood-and-brick, warm, homey room, and there is a side main dining room. The service is friendly, though not particularly beer-knowledgeable from what I could tell. The beer selection is good, with about a dozen taps and a few dozen bottles. They had one cask, OíFallon 5-Day IPA, when I visited. Other taps included 3 New Belgium (including one Lips of Faith), Bellís Expedition Stout, Left Hand, Boulevard, Odell, Guinness, Strongbow, and a few other local and regional things. The food was pretty good, albeit nothing too special. This was a nice place to stop in on a cold day, warm up, have a couple beers and food.

Dresselís is worth a visit if only for the real cask ale that is unpastuerized, not under any pressure, and served at cellar temerature, silmilar to pubs in the UK. Ben, the latest of the Dressel family to run the place, was raised in Wales, and returned after college in the states to run a student exchange program at the University of Wales. Ben knows beer, and he keeps expanding a tight selection of Euro and Yank craft beers. The kitchen knows how to produce very authentic Welsh gastropub food as well. The Pub Above on the second floor is as close to a British pub in appearance as Iíve seen in the US.

If youíre visiting St. Louis and love beer, you need to put Dressels on your list. Unibroue Maudite. Left Hand Milk Stout. OíFallon 5 day IPA. New Belguim, Boulevard, Fullerís stock selections and seasonal. A few other beers also. A great place in a great area of St. Louis, the Central West End. Lewelyns is around the corner, another great place.

Dresselís is one of my favorite places. Eight drafts available, two of which are quite rare: Felinfoel Double Dragon and ESB. Also available are Fullerís London Porter, two Boulevard selections, New Belgiumís Pilsner, Guinness, and Sam Adams. Strongbow (canít bear to call this stuff "cider") is also on tap. The Double Dragon is a top-notch best bitter, and the ESB, while good, is a bit sweet for my palate. The real hits at Dresselís are the atmosphere (which includes the always entertaining staff), and the food. Truly good pub fare, with an interesting selection of daily specials. Particular favorites are the pork loin sandwich, which is marinated in a beer/soy sauce combo before being grilled, and the Chips, which are freshly made to order. Despite the small selection, Iíve spent many a happy evening with a couple pints of Double Dragon, a basket of chips, and a pork sandwich. Dresselís does get quite smoky later in the evening, especially on weekends, so go early, be prepared, or go when its temperate enough to sit at one of the tables on the sidewalk.
