Little gem hidden in the woods near Aarschot. Lovely Irish breakfast on Sundays. Good selection of rare aged beers.

Irish pubs in Belgium are a dime a dozen, generally. This one in the outskirts of Wolfsdonk gets good marks from me because they are one of the few small places that serve a good selection of oude gueuze and oude kriek in addition to all the usual Irish pub suspects, plus a very basic selection of common Belgians. Sundays they open at 9:30AM till whenever and serve a terrific Irish breakfast, for which you have to make a reservation -- well worth it. Snacks are also decent. Nice low-key ambiance, and terrific Irish music (think Waterboys and Pogues). Big emphasis on Orval and Trappists, with the owner an Orval Ambassadeur 2005-2006, and different ages of Orval at good prices. Worth a visit, especially on Sunday.
