64 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 6/10 SELECTION 8/15 FOOD 9/10 VALUE N/A OVERALL 14/20 puboflyons (64) Allenstown, New Hampshire | July 13, 2008 This is a grocery store basically but it is a special kind of grocery store. Just a hop, skip, and a jump from the University of New Hampshire campus, this place boasts a huge selection mustards, cheeses, hot sauces, wine, beer and natural foods. It also has your week’s supply of groceries. It may be owned by the Hannaford chain from Maine because their store brands carried the Hannaford label.........
As far as the beers go, they have a nice balance between macros and micros. I saw Stone, Rogue, Smuttynose, Pennichuck, North Woodstock. Geary, Ipswich, and imports in a wide suppy. But there is also B-M-C. This place definitely caters to the college crowd. But you could buy a six-pack of Smutty, some pretzels, cheese, and an herbal mustard and have a great time when you go home. Reasonable prices. | 48 AMBIANCE 2/5 SERVICE 5/10 SELECTION 7/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 8/10 OVERALL 10/20 BeerFlavoredBeer (17) New Hampshire | March 28, 2013 College-town grocery (affiliated with Hannafords, I believe?). Expect lots of people buying cases of Keystone. Selection is getting better. Bombers of local beers and other craft brews are on the shelf endcaps towards the front of the store, near the wine section. Typical macro selection in the coolers towards the back. Craft beer isn’t too much of a priority, but they’re trying. Expect IPA’s that are 4+ months old to be on the shelf. |
