Was a planned stop on a trip. Turned out to be during their Belgian fest. Food, beers, both delicious. Crazy drafts, insane cellar. And these guys love their beer. Really wish there was closer places to stay. Would definitely recommend, and return.

I was staying within an hour of Lovell, so of course had to check out the famous Ebenezer’s. And truly, it’s well worth the drive, given the paucity of decent places in the area. Chris and Jan were on their way back from Brunswick, so I missed seeing them and the famous cellar, but no complaints here. My brother-in-law and I sat at the bar, got great service, and relaxed over several tasty beers. I’d definitely return if I were back in the area, but it wouldn’t be worth coming up from Portland or further unless it was during a festival.

lots of hype with so little to back it up. truly not worth the go. chris lively ruins the whole experience with his false bravado and not quite accurate knowlege of beer. the place is small, hard to get to, and once you are there it is hand over fist cash for very little, including the beer

One of my favorite places on earth. Incredible one of a kind selections in the basement. Chris and Jen make me feel like family. It’s remote location and strong offerings make this a must do vacation destination. The food menu is also often strong as Chris is a chef and has guests chefs in as well.

Cozy ambiance, feels at home, reminded me of English pubs. Very attentive and polite service. Needless to say, an impressive selection of draft beers. Food: delicious lobster roll and the rest of the menu looked good and varied. The owner, Chris, is very sympathetic, not a snob at all despite being the owner of such a renowned beer cave.

Amazing place in the middle of nowhere. Ordered a Struise Ypres on tap after walking in and Chris proceeds to lay out a whole pannepot taster flight in front of me with 4 different pannepot titles. Then, as if that wasn’t enough, he lays out an Italian Toccalmatto flight to taste his newest exclusive import. Gave an extended tour of the incredible cellar down below as well. The other bartenders were great as well - I was the last one out the door. Also, the hamburger and fries were great.

Long drive to a secluded spot. Nice tap and bottle selection for the commoners. If you knew Chris or if he was there, I hear the cellar is legendary. Unfortunately he’s not in much.

First time at the mythical Ebenezer’s Pub. Comfortable place in a small town. Ambiance is ok, but we went there on a Friday afternoon so it may explain the lack of ambiance. At your arrival, we were served a free small glass of an unidentified (but pretty damn good) lambic. After that service was average to good, but the owner took the time to let us visit is impressive cellar. Food was good, but not great. The draft selection was ok, but not more and it was really pricey. The bottle selection (what was available, not what was in the cellar) was good, but didn’t lived up to the reputation of the place. Overall, it’s a nice place and I think I would return, especially for the special event. But, on a normal day, I prefer Lion’s Pride and Novare Res (this place rocks!) in the area!
