Place rating number 800.

Visited September 2012 for the Borefts festival.

The festival was awesome, though a bit overwhelming, and part of that festival was at hte brewery and not the restaurant. 1 euro per token and well over a hundred beers to try. It was ridiculous. After we tapped out (80 or 90 ticks) we went into the restaurant to check it out and to go up into the windmill. It’s really neat that you climb up into it and look out over the water. The gift shop is nice too since you can buy bottles with dinner, and I think to go but I wasn’t overly interested in hauling more bottles home. I saw some Westvleteren 8 in the corner that was presumably for sale but I didn’t check. The service was great the whole day and not just at the festival. I would definitely come back if in the area.

A beautiful and cosy restaurant located close to the brewery. The restaurant has a canal view canal and offers some lovely views. The beer list is awesome and so is the food. Do ask for recommendations of food and beer parings.

Great place to have lunch or dinner, both the selection of lunch and dinner meals are broad and varied. The menu is even equipped with a ’what beer to drink with this’ guide. The dishes are named creatively, and some actually involve beer in the process of cooking the dish as well. The service is friendly, not too hasty and very pleasant. The waiters and waitresses know much about beer and are able to tell non-conoisseurs all about their beers. Which brings me to the next point: the beer is excellent. Moderate variety of tap beers and a large variety of bottled beers, from all over the world. Definitely one of my favorite places to go out for dinner!

Attended the third, fourth and fifth Borefts Beer Festivals – a “Who’s Who” of the high quality beer world in Europe (with Jester King, an American brewery, included in 2012) and a must visit festival where you know that whatever you choose to taste it’s going to be good. It was difficult to get an impression of what De Molen is like under normal circumstances but then Menno also kindly hosted the grand tasting for the RBESG in 2013 and we ate in an upstairs room at the mill, which is a stone’s throw away from the new brewery. It was interesting to see the place when it’s not Borefts time. The dining area downstairs seems quite formal but the bar staff were friendly and the patio outside is a nice place to relax with a good beer or two. (Last visited 28 September 2013).

Went there during the BBF 2011. Great beerplace. I have no idea of the regular prices and food they serve. Selection in the shop was really nice, prices in the shop were ok. Update: Went there last weekend for the huge Bourbon County tasting. We went there already on friday. Nice draught selection of 10 De Molen beers. Food is decently priced and the taste of it is really amazing. Had the "Ganzenpas". A goose breast filet, hunted down in the local area ’het Groene Hart’. Absolutly great. All bottles from the shop are available to drink on the premises as well. Higly recommended.

Old: Very small brewery, but they where brewing, and the smell was excellent. Then got to taste 2 beers at the bar. The shop is very small, but they have some beers of different country’s. Beers that I didn’t ever see in any shop here, so i bought like a dozen of beers to taste. Edit:Had to change this review, and give some more points after the excellent beerfestival we had. Edit 2: Had to decrease a bit. Prices seems to rise, and we were a bit disappointed cause some little thing... And the shop is in the meanwhile bigger then the first time I was there.Still a very good selection also ofcourse.

Did a ’tour’/tasting with a group of friends here. Perfect atmosphere to taste beer here. Beer offerings obviously based on their own brews. The little shop has high-rated imports as well, which can be expensive though. The restaurant serves well-prepared and tasty dishes that go well with their brews. Happy to let you visit their beer shop even after dinner.

Suddenly in the middle of a dutch village , a windmill comes into your view, the place feels warm rustic and not overly decorated, you can see the brewery from the dining area. The brewer and and chef were very talktive and we had a friendly chat, they served and explained evey thing that was on tap. I did not try the food, but the menu looks like a godd partner to the excellent beer. Very much hope to come here again.
