Visited around the time of the Boerefts beer festival, my favorite festival on the planet at the moment. Extensive tasting menu, delicious food. Bottle shop has a good selection, including some rarities and a bunch of American stuff from Lost Abbey and elsewhere. Mandatory beer stop, even if you must go out of your way.

Wow, what can I say. The building is stunning; a windmill adapted as a brewery, set in a lovely Dutch town surrounding flat fields. The setting is superb. The shop is excellent. Several interesting top 50 beers here. The service is stunning. Everyone on decks despite being stupidly busy assisting with the military precision movement which is contributing to the best beer festival ever, attentive and knowledgeable staff, eager to assist at great length. The beer range is stunning and mind blowing. Conditioning is perfect and the environment is first class. Must come back and have a meal as recommended in rates. Menno you are setting the standard in The Netherlands. and Europe. .

Visited the place at the end of august. What a discovery! Had the most exquisite beer-dinner. Peter is really a fantastic chef . The chocolate desert with the Molen Hel & Verdoemenis Misto BA on tap is a sensation you can’t imagine… This in combination with the hospitality of Peter’s wife (I think) and the enthusiastic young man and girl, you think: Oh, life can be so good… The little beershop has a nice selection (about 200 ?) of rare (top) Beers, prices are more than fair if you compare them with the shops in Amsterdam. This place is a must! We went back because of BBF. World class festival with the most excellent athmosphere. Superb organised. Top beers, I think 60 - 70 on tap.

The building needs work, though it too has great potential. The bottle shop is mind-boggling in its quality and rare selections. Would have wished for a couple more beers on tap in the restaurant. Anyhow, it is one of the best places to go in the country.

The bar/restaurant is pretty good. The shop is awesome but the prices are on the high side but there are beers here from the best brewers in the world (some very hard to get hold of). Menno’s beers are a must try! There are no bad beers in this shop!

The tasting room is nice, the food menu is interesting and the food is good. The service is very good. They have a nice tap list and an extensive bottle list. The bottle shop is quite impressive too. This is a must if you go to Netherlands.

A pinnacle beer experience. Getting there is easy--a short train ride from Leiden, though my friend biked there from The Hague (2 to 3 hours with a rental bike, getting lost a few times). I’d recommend eating here--Peter is a brilliant chef, offering beautifully composed plates with a rich vocabulary of flavors. The tasting room had five beers on tap, one a guest from Denmark, and of course any bottle is available in the restaurant. Peter and his wife (sorry, I’m terrible with names) are attentive, though when I was there the younger staff (the local teenage girls) were just learning the ropes of how to pour beers, with commensurate thin knowledge of the beer. The beer store is very good (Alesmith?!), though I was hoping to find a few more cellared, rare beers that are only available at the brewpub--though there are plenty of beers that are not available in the U.S. Prices are fair--it isn’t like they’re dirt cheap, because you have to pay for quality. All in all, I will long remember this visit as one of the best meals I’ve had, and certainly the best beer dinner ever. Save your pennies and spring for the food (30 euro for a three-course).

To start of, the ambience, just great. Full stacked bottle shop, nice restaurant, lots of wood, direct view of the brewery, all very open and accessible. Nice. Had some beers from tap, very helpful staff tried to explain umami to me by a various array of sauces and other ingredients from the kitchen. Much appreciated! Then the shop, it’s well packed with awesome beers at fair prices. Must visit more often.

Did a ’tour’/tasting with a group of friends here. Perfect atmosphere to taste beer here. Beer offerings obviously based on their own brews. The little shop has high-rated imports as well, which can be expensive though. The restaurant serves well-prepared and tasty dishes that go well with their brews. Happy to let you visit their beer shop even after dinner.
