A very sympathetic place with nice ambiance, everything is wooden, the music is good and not too loud, nice personnel. 10 taps of De Molen beers, lots of available bottles (their bottle shop is basically in the same building), and the food is delicious. Fair prices, I really enjoyed my lunch there! Iím definitely coming back!

From April 2011 review
Peter Paul & Jose were fantastic hosts. Food was tasty and very reasonable. We didnít have a big look around but the drive in made Bodegraven look like a clean and beautiful town. We were debating stopping here on our way from Amsterdam to Belgium for the weekend. So glad we decided to take the time. We planned on lunch, a couple beers and a look in the bottle shop. A couple hours later and I left with a box full of goodies. We were there shortly after opening so were able to chat them up for quite a while. Bottles may be a bit high but they have plenty of unique offerings...sometimes you have to pay to play, right? they are building a new brewery 200 meters down the road so shouldnít really affect the set up. Going to start with viewing days for the new brewery I believe next week. Although, I hope they leave remnants from the old brewery because people need to see the small set up that they run with. Itís impressive in how small it is. A great way to start a beer-cation! Bring bottles to share with Peter Paul.

Beer shop has a good, but variable range. Relatively expensive. Restaurant is nice, but food average. Service friendly, but slow.

I went there with my girlfriend for a day trip. We both enjoy beer very much and we wanted to see the place where they come up with a new beer every few months. We were both impressed by the fact how small it is, considering their output. The people there must do some really judicious work.
While we were there a presentation on "how brewing works" was being conducted by the brewmaster, and we watched it while we got a taste of a series of De Molen beers in small taste glasses (0.20 cl iirc) It was great.
The price for the whole procession of beers was really good, also the food is not expensive for itís outstanding quality. They have a small shop where they sell their own beer and also a small but carefully chosen selection of Scandinavian and American beers.
Add to that a number of great "like your granny used to have" traditional Dutch products of the edible and drinkable kind, and you get a nice little store. The staff are nice and enthusiastic, even though the younger people seem to be more trained in being good bar/restaurant personnel than beer experts.
For the rest Bodegraven is as boring as a small town in the middle of Holland can be, even though it actually has strong historic roots, which are showcased around the town on municipal boards. It is one of those places, which once had great promise in old times but became forgotten when superseded by the modern age. In the beer landscape of the Netherlands - however - it is like a major metropolis. Go and see it if you can.

Visited this after a long bike-trip to Bodegraven and we were really thirsty when we arrived. Nice helpful young staff and great service. Really helpful girl. The atmosphere is great, no one is ever in a hurry and the food we ordered was top notch. Too bad thereís nothing else to do in Bodegraven. One of the best places in Holland for sure

This place is well worth, the trouble getting there. The bar area had five of their recent brews on tap and you could buy many more of the bottled ones. The store had a pretty good selection considering how small it was. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The tour was fairly interesting, but mostly about the brewing process. If you can make out there, got for it if for no other reason than their hard to find beers. Great Brewery.

Visited the store during their BBF festival. I liked how the store appears with all the dark wood. A very nice selection of beers from all the sweetspots in the world. I bought an Alesmith IPA which I got from their basement because they only wanted to have one on the shelf and then store the rest. Prices for some beers were a bit high. Would love to go there again when itís a bit less crowded.

nice place, good restaurant/pub. The beershop is very very little with a minimalist selection. The most popular De Molenís beers are not available neither in the beershop nor in the restaurant
