Fantastic place. Situated in this old traditional mill next to a beautifull canal. OPen the door from the restaurant and you wiull find that your almost in the canal. The staff is friendly and serves both beers and meals perfectly. The chef knows what he is doing, and the brewer defently does too. The selection in the beer store is great with beers from Mikkeller, Amager Nøgne Ø, Rouge, and other american brews. Off cause there is also the best selection of De Molen that youll find. Go there for dinner, for drinks or for buying your stuff. Very very nice

Beautiful ambiance and very kind staff. Amazing selection of De Molen beers. It was a pity I missed the tour of the brewery.

haven’t had anything to eat , but the shop is pretty darn good , prices seem a bit on the high side ( for international brews that is ) but then again they do have to come overseas and the de molen beers itself are good enough for me so way cheaper :) i also like the interior and like the fact that everyone of the staff does seem to enjoy a decent beer , trust me i’ve been to specialized beer pubs and have found out that many of the staff don’t even know the difference between labmic and gueze ....

To start of, the ambience, just great. Full stacked bottle shop, nice restaurant, lots of wood, direct view of the brewery, all very open and accessible. Nice. Had some beers from tap, very helpful staff tried to explain umami to me by a various array of sauces and other ingredients from the kitchen. Much appreciated! Then the shop, it’s well packed with awesome beers at fair prices. Must visit more often.

Stopped through for a beer and got an intimate tasting in the charming little brewpup. The main brewery has moved across the street and what is left is a great restaurant and an awesome little bottle shop. Selection in the bottle shop is amazing for the Netherlands, you are bound to find some rarities in there. I had the stewed rabbit and it was magnificent. Prices are a little high for my taste, but that is pretty much the way it is across the board in the Netherlands anyway. Overall, this is a great place and I highly recommend it.

Visited during the BBF 2011. The ambience surrounding the mill is very nice. Very rustic and true to Bodegraven’s rural setting. The beer selection was really excellent. Of course there were lots of specialties from the different breweries attending the Beer Festival, but the other stuff was also impressive. Of course a good selection of De Molen beers, but also Danish (I bought my long-time want Amager MurpHill), Belgians like Struise and Westvleteren, a good selection of American beers. Good policy on their Alesmith IPA’s - only one on the shelf and the others in a dark and cold basement so they weren’t exposed to heat or sunlight. Good one. The De Molen and Belgian beers were decently priced, although some of the Americans and especially the LoverBeers were high, even in comparison to Danish standards. But a really cool store overall.

Based on three different visits during Borefts. The food was OK when we ate at the mill, but the dinner felt a bit pricey. The beer list when we were there was really nice. Will try to visit one day without the festival

I’m very sad to write this review. This place has changed so much over the years. I remember the first time I was there some years ago it was an amazing experience. The crew was very friendly, ambitious and knowledgeable about the brewery. I remember Menno was there and he even gave me a private tour through the brewery, while he was teaching one of his staff to do the guided tour. Also we got some great tasters and went home with some regular brews but also some special brews (which I think is something you might expect when visiting a brewery). Now sadly this place has changed in a very negative way... Staff is not friendly at all, they don’t seem to care about what they sell, they are only interested in you if you want to buy things, the atmosphere is below freezing temperature and the shop, although offering a lot of nice beers from abroad, doesn’t offer anything special from De Molen beers. Sad sad sad I won’t go back anytime soon (not that anyone cares about that ;) )
