Beer store located in St-Jean-sur-Richelieu... Been selling craft beers (amongst others) since Savage Garden were popular (or something like that), so I’m surprised to see there are no ratings at all. While I can’t name all the guys that works there, I know that at least 2 of them pretty much drank all the stuff that they have. What you’ll find here is mainly Quebec craftbrews, Quebec macro-craftbrews (for a lack of a better word -- think Boréale), macro-brews and SOME imports (the stuff you’ll normally find in some convenience stores, like the Newcastle and the Biburger), but the craft brews makes it totally worth it. They had some custom craftbrews from La Barberie a few years ago (Pale Ale aux Petits Fruits and Bière Brune forte), which were both blasts AND the best stuff the Barberie ever sold. The only reason why they lose points is purely due to some stupid beer import reglementation. They seem to often have tasting sessions as well. If "comparing" is allowed, well, it compares advantageously with the Marché Jovi in Hull. It’s in Les Halles St-Jean, but you can also enter via rue Gregoire (but due to ridiculously small parking lot, les Halles St-Jean might be a better idea if you have to buy some fish, ham, cheese or veggies to consume with your beer).

Visited on a Wednesday early evening.

Ambiance: Large place. Very well organized. Lots of refrigerated space. Clean.

Service: Very friendly and knowledgeable. The guy knew what he was talking about and not bulshitting like they do in so many beer stores even when it was about stuff that they just receive.

Selection: Very good selection with some hard to find regional beers (Le Bilboquet Billy Bishop) and almost all the good recent releases from Québec breweries. Hoppy products seemed to be really fresh too.

Food: It’s also a grocery store.

Value: Prices are what they should be. Nothing seemed to be overprice and there was even a few nice deals.

Overall: Pretty neat bottle shop that I would visit often should I be local to this place. Great service, good selection and good prices in a well organized space.

well spoted in a building also occupied by other food stores (Cheese, meat, sausages, fruits..) The place is quite big over 50% of the beer selection is refrigerated. They are a not the first to receive new products but most ot them make and apparence sooner or later. Pricing is higher there than everywhere. Staff is friendly. I never asked for recommandation only for direction (where to find the beer in the store). There is plenty of parking and its free.

If you’re looking for beer advice or want a good beer selection, this place is a really good place. The staff knows their beer so you’ll sure have good recommendations based on your tastes. Rare Quebec beers can be hard to have though because once they get it it’s gone fast but you’re sure to always have a fresh beer. On another note, their price is much higher than other beer stores.
