Thereís nothing here you wouldnít find in any good bottle shop but that still puts it a notch above most Australian city bars. Itís central and comfortable and fairly hard on the wallet. I spent most of a Melbourne Cup week in here a couple of years back, so I have a soft spot for the place. The food is pretty good by pub standards. This is certainly not a pub to seek out, but itís a decent fallback if youíre in the area and feel like blowing a few bucks on the more obvious Belgian ales.

crap crap and more crap. 8 taps with Stella, Guiness and the like. Should be taken off this site, not even worth stopping by if close.

Crappy tourist trap. Aimed at the after-work drinks crowd, not beer folks. Does get some unusual Eurolagers on tap though.

Why am I rating this place? Oh yeah...f#^$ tourist trap so I guess Iím trying to do the beer geek market a service. The best I could do off the taps was a $10 Grimbergen Dubbel. Still, served in a nice Chimay chalice. Fairly crap bottle list that concentrates on the Fosters imports (Stella, Hoeggy, Belle Vue etc) and doesnít get too exiciting. Perhaps the pick is the Schneider Edelweisse? Nice enough inside with plenty of seating, upmarket fitout without going over the top. Staff, generalyy, have SFA idea about the beer but no real surprises there. Food offerings look ok but I have not tried. Pass.
