Visited on a Saturday afternoon in November 2015. Single roomed pub a couple of mins from the station. Lots of wooden benches for seating. A good range of both cask and key beers. Prices are pretty good and you’ll always pick up something new here. It’s been similar for the past 20 years or so. A great venue and if you have to go to one place in Brighton then this is handy and a must do.

Good beer selection, and those we tried were in good condition. Friendly service & clientele. Well worth a visit if in Brighton. Visted lunchtime 31.3.15

Visited the Evening Star when I was over at Olly & Mia’s place during my RBESG - GBBF beer holiday in August 2014. Nice warm and cozy pub with some nice cask beers on tap and also some in bottle. Had a very good time here and will certainly visit again if I ever get the chance.

I love this pub, first of all it’s a proper pub rather than a bar, with a fantastic selection from all my favourite English breweries - Dark Star of course, but also Thornbridge, Brodies, Magic Rock, Kernel etc... Perfectly kept cask beers, you’ll never taste a more delicious pint of Hophead, and a good selection of bottles and Keg (although to be honest the cask beer is good enough that I do’t tend to delve further...). Friendly, lively, close to the station, perfect!

Maybe I just came here on a bad day, but the first thing that hit me when I went in was the smell - like a dodgy charity shop with a damp dog in it. Light wood furniture. Undoubtedly has a good selection of cask ales. Patrons tend to crowd the bar rather than take their beers away, making it difficult to get served. Service was fine. It gets marked up for beer selection.

2014 Update - The beer range has improved again in here with more guests, craft kegs and range of styles. Undoubtedly still the best in Brighton for me.
2012 review 82. One of the great brewery taps. Fantastic atmosphere, almost a country pub in town. Good range of beers mostly from Dark Star itself. Worth a few hours of anybody’s time.

Probably the coolest place in Brighton. Very good local and UK range with some great imported additions lie GI bourbon county, Mikkeller spont series and some barrel aged funky stars etc. Cask selection is mainly them with locals and they have nice additions of the likes of Brew by numbers, Burning Sky and Camden. Good selection of stuff outside of beer as well. Service is solid and efficient. A must visit place when down here

Very cosy pub, always something new on tap. Regulars include Magic Rock and obviously plenty of Dark Star. Nice service.

Small pub with a big heart. Good beers from Dark Star, located very close to the raiway station, top notch place.
