52 AMBIANCE 2/5 SERVICE 9/10 SELECTION 6/15 FOOD 5/10 VALUE 7/10 OVERALL 9/20 Gypsy19 (11) California | April 7, 2009| Updated April 8, 2009 Went to this place on an invite from Oscbert on a "$2 pint Sunday". Well, there were some pretty decent pints for 2 bones, I’ll just say that. No, the selction wasn’t vast by any stretch of the imagination, but it had a good vibe, though this might be because there were a few other beer folks there to bullshit with.
The pizza that I sampled had gourmet toppings, but the pie itself was very cracker-like; Not for Chicago-style lovers, that’s for sure.
One thing that really caught my eye was the service: The owner was very friendly and, on at least one occasion, came and sat down and bullshat with us! Not only was he jovial, but he knew what he was selling, beer-wise, and was generous with samples from the taps to, as he put it, make sure I liked it before I bought a whole pint.
So while not a world-class beerpub or restaurant singularly, a comfortable combination of both. | 54 AMBIANCE 3/5 SERVICE 7/10 SELECTION 3/15 FOOD 8/10 VALUE N/A OVERALL 14/20 Oscbert (11) Sacramento, California | October 7, 2008 Owner is a beer lover and often changes out taps, so should probably call before going if you are looking for new beers.
Pizza is great, allways good beers on tap and staff is friendly. | 26 AMBIANCE 2/5 SERVICE 5/10 SELECTION 2/15 FOOD 7/10 VALUE 5/10 OVERALL 4/20 DYCSoccer17 (275) Woodland, California | September 26, 2008 Um, so I don’t know why this fucking place is in the database. Wasted my time going there. 7 taps: Fox Barrel Cider, Stone Arrogant Bastard, Sudwerk Pils, Rubicon IPA, Lagunitas IPA, Anchor Steam, and Moyland’s Scotch Ale. Yep, that’s it. Pizza was good, bathrooms were disgusting and place was dingy. Don’t waste your time. |
