A truely great place. 42 Beers on tap plus many more bottles to choose from. Food that cannot be beat as far as bar food is concerned. Best wings in the city to go along with the beers. An excellent staff working behind the bar

When I visited: Late summer 2012.
What I had: East End Big Hop Harvest Ale (cask), Yards General Washington Tavern Porter (draught), Fat Headís Head Hunter IPA (draught), The Duck-Rabbit Brown Ale (draught), South Side Slopes headwich.
What I liked: Bustling approachable atmosphere, friendly patrons, massive well-organized beer list, efficient and welcoming bartenders, delicious world-beating sandwiches, great retail store upstairs, mind-blowing IPA.
What I disliked: Aside from having to wait a few minutes for our seats, nothing really.
Would I go back? Definitely.
Overall Rating: 96
Got there late, wasnít crowed. Just the way I like it. Wife and I had a couple of sandwiches which were tasty. We tried the Fat Head brews and were pleased. Cool place. If I lived in the hood, Iíd hang out there.
One of the best beer bars in America! I used to live in Pittsburgh and travel frequently there for business. Every time I take someone there, it immediately becomes one of their favorite beer places. Taps always rotate and bartenders are consistently knowledgeable of the beers. Prices are surprising low, even for Pittsburgh. Food cannot be matched although not healthy - but why would it be? Cannot be beat.
went there with 4 different beer drinkers everyone was happy.very crowded but service was great. excellent selection and glassware. all food was good esecially 3-pepper cheesesteak and garlic fries. wonderfull 6-pack shop

Pretty good food, and lots of beers to choose from. Workers were also very friendly, and helpful, If iím ever in the steel city any time soon iíll have to check this place out again. Oh yeah there head trip is an amazing brew that has to be tried!
Possibly the best draught selection in Pittsburgh. Beers always taste fresh and they keep their lines very clean.
The upstairs now sells mix and match 6 packs to go, with quite a selection of hard to find beers. Food is very good - a large assortment of sandwiches, "headwiches", good wings, etc. It can get pretty busy though at times. The bar area could be a bit bigger. Staff are very friendly and knowledgeable about the beers on tap - some are better than others of course.

Honestly, just about the only place my wife and I will go out to. Beer selection is great. Always Rogues, Victory and Stone and usually 5 Belgians. Food is outstanding and the wings are the best I've ever had.
One of the best spots in the South Side. Huge portions of absolutely delicious bar food. Amazing wings, awesome beer selection and relatively knowledgable staff. The one knock is that this place is always packed. TVís are all around with an outdoor patio. There is also an upstairs bottleshop, reasonably priced for the Pittsburgh area.
Stopped in on a Sunday afternoon for lunch. Parking is payed across the street. Wasnít too busy, despite the Steelers game being on TV. Walked in and was seated immediately. 42 beers on draft. Donít think they had a bottle menu. If they did, I never saw it. My burger was delicious, Southside Slopes, highly recommend it. The homemade potato chips were very good as well. Service was quick, attentive, and friendly. The beer was very good, I stuck to the Fat Heads stuff. If you get the chance to stop in here, I would highly recommend it. You wonít be let down. The bottle shop upstairs had a nice selection of around 75 to 100 bottles. If you buy them individually, youíll get ripped off. However, if you build a 6 pack, you get a $12 discount, which evens things out a good bit. This part is still pretty pricy.
