A nice yet small pub in Santa Monica with an awesome burger. The beer selection was great, with about two dozen taps and several bottles. The place is self-service, and a long queue can build up for getting beers/food. Did I say the burger was awesome? Other food choices sounded good, but the burger was recommended.

A lot smaller than what I thought it was going to be. Sat at the bar and had both food and drinks. Nice tap selection with Alesmith Summer Yulesmith, 3 Russian River brews including RTE, 2 Oskar Blues and some other really nice brews. Had the burger which has great. Service was good and had a really nice feel to it. My only complaint would be that it is a little expensive for what it is. 2 beers and a burger and fries cost me $35 with tip included. Not mind blowing but not cheap either. Nice place though and would visit often if I lived in the area.

Went here for lunch on Saturday with my girlfriend. Was pretty crowded for the lunch, with loud people. Food was great. Both my girlfriend and I had the burger, and it was excellent! Sweet Potato fries were also suprisingly good. Both servers were extremely knowledgable (including kittiesandbeer). To drink I had Pliny the Elder and a NB Fleur. My girlfriend had RR Perdition and Telegraph California Ale. Will probably return soon, but I am going to go visit dirtymartini and the Culver City location first. It was a bit on the pricey side.

Trendy spot in Santa Monica. Always packed, but worth the wait. Once you see the beers on tap, you’ll understand and once you’ve had one of their burgers, you’ll probably thank me. How long it takes for you to indulge in both is an entirely different matter.

Great place.went too seek out its famous burger. One of the best burgers I’ve ever had. Sweet potatoes fries were great also. Nice selection of tap (Russian River X3, AleSmith, local breweries) Get here @ 5 or good luck getting a table. Great [place. Seek out if in Santa Monica

Visited here for a quick pint, whilst in LA a few years back. Arrived about 5.00 and it was already standing room only. In fact when we left, about 6.00, they were queuing down the street to get in, which I thought was a bit over the top. Some attractive looking choices on tap - I had a Pliny the Elder or Younger (until I locate my missing notebook, which one of the two will remain a mystery). OKish place, but I do like to have a nice sit down to sup my pints, and at 5.00 I would usually expect to get one. A bit over hyped perhaps.

Friend that took me here said that the former funky decor had a fresh coat of paint. Still had a certain ambience and the bar help was pretty cool. Don't recall all the taps, but there were some decent Belgians and fair Bristish along w/ the California beers. I hope they're as good or better now.

The only things that stop a perfect score are that the taps are rather CA-centric (and barely rotate) and the place is tiny! Okay, Culver is better, but still a bullfight. But this is some of the best food I’ve ever had, beer bar or not. This place is exactly what LA needs more of.

I visited Father’s office for dinner on a Sunday night recently. Very crowded and very loud. It was honestly a chore to carry on a conversation. While it didn’t bother be too much, I can see the place being too loud for many people. The beer selection was pretty solid, with a could Craftsman beers that I was looking for while in town, plus a bunch of other socal and belgian stuff on tap. Being so busy, the service was prompt but friendly enough. Didn’t really interact much with any of the staff actually, but no one made any effort to check on us. I had to try the burger, and it is indeed quite good, but twelve dollars for a burger at a casual dining place is a bit steep. Beer prices were also generally on the high side. I would probably look for a more reasonable and spacious place to go out the next time I’m in the area, but Fathers Office is definitely a quality establishment focused on good beer and good food.

A couple of quality sessions on a recent visit to SM and came away very favorably impressed. Small and cozy but with a nicely unvarnished woody feel, it came across as unpretentiously elegant. Vibe was good, from the super cool dude at the door, the mix of neighborhood regs and beer nerds, and a general conviviality (as always: if my non-beer nerd family likes it, it’s good independent of sudsy merit). Kinda crowded, and the burger wasn’t *that* good, but hard not to score this one very highly. Loads and loads of terrific beers available, it goes without saying. Really enjoyed it.
