Trendy spot in Santa Monica. Always packed, but worth the wait. Once you see the beers on tap, youíll understand and once youíve had one of their burgers, youíll probably thank me. How long it takes for you to indulge in both is an entirely different matter.
nice atmoshphere and a very good selection of brews.(craftsman, russian river, alesmith, etc.)service is top notch.although the office burger is way over-hyped and the crowd is a bit pretentious.

This place gets busy (and the fire marshall is now regulating occupancy) so itís a great early evening place or a weekend lunch spot. Lots of great beers of tap, Stone, Ale Smith....too many to list. They have a website with the list though: www.fathersoffice.com
For food, get The Office Burger - iím a major burger fan and can be pretty particular - it is delicious!
Great place.went too seek out its famous burger. One of the best burgers Iíve ever had. Sweet potatoes fries were great also. Nice selection of tap (Russian River X3, AleSmith, local breweries) Get here @ 5 or good luck getting a table. Great [place. Seek out if in Santa Monica

The only things that stop a perfect score are that the taps are rather CA-centric (and barely rotate) and the place is tiny! Okay, Culver is better, but still a bullfight. But this is some of the best food Iíve ever had, beer bar or not. This place is exactly what LA needs more of.
Great place with lots of very good beers on tap. Food is excellent tried the office burger of course. On a Monday night it was very crowded but was able to find bar seating eventually. Tried two different beers Iíd never tried before.

I used to go here after the current owner put in the new beer system and craft beers but before he began to serve food. At that time, FO was the best beer bar ever. A perfect place to while away a weekend afternoon and evening with a few pints. As soon as the Office Burger hit, that Fatherís Office died, replaced by the current version. This place is overrun with hip, loud people eating Office Burgers left and right with glasses of water or wine or perhaps some of the least adventurous beer pours from the bar, all the while posting messages on the web that there needs to be a reservation system or table service or that valet parking should be offered. Thereís no denying that this place has helped touch off a food and beer revolution in LA, but it is an obnoxious, unfriendly place to visit now. Even though the new bartenders are perfectly fine, I prefer the old crew from 6 or 7 years ago. The owner also stopped rotating the beer taps as frequently. They seem to have settled in to a regular bunch with only a few changes now and then. Overall, Iíd rather have a beer at home or just about any of places inspired by FO (Lucky Devilís, Boneyard Bistro, The Otheroom, 3rd Stop) now than go to what was once my favorite beer bar.
Used to go here in the early 90s - it was so cool. Only place you could get all the Anchor beers, Rogue, etc. Old School. Things have changed! They serve good food for sure and that along with sexier bartenders and livelier music have made Fatherís Office quite the busy busy place. Unfortunately, itís just not the classic beer geek place it once was.
This was my first visit to Fathers Office. They had probable 25 beers on tap, a lot of American, some Belgian and German. I had a Hop Rod with a burger. The burger was one of the best i have had in a long time and the beer went great with it. I did not get to interact with the bartenders much but the service was good and they seemed knowledgeable. This place gets busy and is small so get there early.
