Typical German pub/restaurant. A bit more fancy than the brewpubs in the Altstadt. Mainly old people having a beer and meal. If you sit down the will immediately serve you a beer without asking. They have more stuff however on the menu. The food looked more than ok but I didn’t have any myself. Friendliness of the staff was ok.

A great old building with great beer. Went in on a Saturday morning in Sept ’07. Everyone else seemed to be an older regular. Enjoyed a couple beers but somehow felt rushed and almost unwanted. Maybe they were just too busy filling liters for take-away. I definitely recommend getting one of those.

We had a couple here before hiking into the Altstadt. It was a good thing, because its brother pub in the center was too packed later on. By stopping here first, we got to enjoy those nice beers amid some elbow room. The place is spacious also convenient to several hotels. An oompah band randomly marched through while we were there. Definitely worth a visit, and you can take a peel at the brewing kit in the back.

Not a bad stop in Altstadt. Atmosphere was somewhat Bavarian, fairly open space and laid back company. Noise was under control. The beer selection was limited, and the quality decent, but not excellent. The food was good and if you want to relax after visiting Fuchschen, go ahead and stop here!

A classic "Rhenish" beer-hall, not really cozy, but always busy; typical prompt service (by "Köbes"ses), execellent Alt, also available in One-litre swing top bottles. Three times a year they serve there the stronger "Latzen"-Bier.
The pub is situated not very far from the Hauptbahnhof (main railway station), ideal for a last sip on the way back to the Bahnhof.......................
They own a second pub in the Altstadt (Goldener Kessel, Bolkerstrasse), which is smaller and more "bourgeois", but also worth a visit...............

Quite liked the beer. Service wasn’t that great but probably because I was drinking with an alcoholic madman. A bit out from the Altstadt and probably not as cosy for mine.
