The FBI is an Ullapool institution. It has a great waterside location and is pretty much always full. There is tiny bar area that serves up to 3 cask ales, but donít expect anything exciting just stuff like Deuchers. Come here for the regular live music and atmosphere. I have also stayed here in the past and found it a rather enjoyable experience.

The FBI - has undergone some change in recent years with new owners. In the past it used to have bar stools and low tables. Now it looks a bit cramped and makes it hard for a band to play an instruments as it is all rather packed. Has the usual drinks on so nothing special but it is the place to be in Ullapool. Always a good laugh when you pass by.

Itís not just a bar. Itís an inn. The bar is not large, but it can hold 30 people and a musician. The trick is to enter from the North door - cause the bar is on the North side and the musician(s) will be on the South side - which tends to block the South door. When it is really on, folks go sit on the sea wall across the narrow roadway. It only has 3 or 4 real ales, but thatís more than anywhere else in Ullapool, Iíll wager. Restaurant food was good. When business was slow, staff was talkative. Ambiance is great, especially if you include the bay which is just across the road. It is the place in Ullapool. Spend the night.
