54 AMBIANCE 2/5 SERVICE 7/10 SELECTION 8/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 7/10 OVERALL 10/20 dionysus (10) Arizona | March 1, 2012| Updated March 17, 2012 Typical grocery style set. Has a lot of potential due to the size, but the majority of selections are local/mainstream. A couple of hidden gems such as HoppinFrog and barrel aged Central Waters/Tyranena brews, but mostly just a tickfest. Prices are fairly reasonable.
EDIT: Extremely slow and uninformed when it comes to special orders. I even provided the distributor and still took longer than a week for an actual answer. Overall it has lots of potential but falls short in all areas. | 58 AMBIANCE 2/5 SERVICE 9/10 SELECTION 8/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 6/10 OVERALL 10/20 arkurzynski (72) West Bend, Wisconsin | November 1, 2011| Updated March 17, 2012 General grocery liquor store. Ok selection and a mix your own section. Poor turnover. Staff helpful and willing to do special orders. | 60 AMBIANCE 2/5 SERVICE 7/10 SELECTION 9/15 FOOD N/A VALUE N/A OVERALL 12/20 BB64 (10) Wisconsin | January 1, 2010| Updated March 17, 2012 Best grocery store beer selection in town - with all that sterile grocery store feeling. Decent Wisconsin microbrew selection, Pick-6 is nice, not too overpriced (got me through funky pumpkin ales without having to buy full 6 of each). Wandered out with a cartfull of IPA’s before Christmas and the manager on duty complimented my selections. | 38 AMBIANCE 2/5 SERVICE 3/10 SELECTION 6/15 FOOD N/A VALUE N/A OVERALL 8/20 That1Guy (22) Boulder, Colorado | August 28, 2008| Updated March 17, 2012 About what expected. Variety 6 is always a plus, but when it’s mainly Leinies, I’ll pass. Did have Founders, Flying Dog, and Dogfish Head, and bombers of Unibroue, but overall kinda sucked. | 60 AMBIANCE 2/5 SERVICE 7/10 SELECTION 9/15 FOOD 8/10 VALUE N/A OVERALL 12/20 keoki182 (18) West Bend, Wisconsin | July 3, 2008| Updated March 17, 2012 Festival Foods is a grocery store first and foremost, but has a nice beer selection in the liquor department. They have a nice selection of bottles for Build Your Own Sixer construction. Central Waters, Bells, Sierra Nevada, Point, Breckinridge, and more. They also have a nice selection of larger bottles of German and Japanese beers available. Their cooler is filled with harder-to-find six packs, particularly in this region of the state. Festival also does nice business in offering gift/holiday sets of beers from various breweries year-round. Not a true beer store, but light years better than your average grocery store for selection and volume. |
