76 AMBIANCE 5/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 10/15 FOOD 7/10 VALUE 4/10 OVERALL 15/20 Jesterdeal (6) Marlton, New Jersey | April 10, 2013 Drawn into this place by the BBQ smell wafting down Frankford. Cool place. Cafeteria style pickup for the food which makes it easy to get the amount of food you want rather quickly. The meat itself is pretty good. I was unimpressed with their ribs and pulled pork but their brisket was top notch. About 10 taps of beers, most of which are pretty standard local fare (which for Philly is pretty great). Great ambiance. Blues playing, outdoor heaters, and the facade of the restaurant is made to look like a Mississippi delta front porch. I will say that the food is far too expensive for the caliber of BBQ they are preparing. If I’m paying that much for ribs, they had better melt in my mouth.
All in all, I would go back for the brisket and a good time. | 72 AMBIANCE 5/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 8/15 FOOD 10/10 VALUE 7/10 OVERALL 15/20 watson1977 (111) The dub c, Pennsylvania | November 13, 2012 First trip there this past sunday (loved the one in brooklyn) and i cant wait to go back! Amazing BBQ as i expected and a cool atmosphere with nice dark wood...warm with a barn/smokehouse feel. Heated outdoor seating. 9 beers Nice local offerings) and a cider on tap and an amazing whiskey selection. I hate that they serve beers in mason jars but i like the food presentation...sold by weight and served on a tray. Service is friendly. Prices for the food are a bit high but this is top notch bbq so i’m fine with it. Drink prices are fair- high. Im going back for the food...and maybe a beer from earth, bread, brewery. |
