This is a nice place on 50 W (hence the name). Comfortable environment with outstanding staff and a nice, rotating selection. I’m expecting big things from this place as they grow and expand.

Stopping here on the recommendation of many locals, I discovered a nice local which might deserve future visits if it were not so far from downtown. Tucked away a few miles from the interstate, Fifty West looks more like a bed and breakfast than a brewpub from the outside. Once you walk in and see the extensive beer list your assumptions will change.
Arriving fairly soon after it opened the place was quiet. If you sit up in the bar area the noise from the televisions might make talking difficult. Off the side the ambiance makes it possible to have conversations despite the cramped arrangement of some of the tables.
The beer list covers a variety of styles. On Sundays flights of six beers are half price which makes it an excellent time to come if you just want to tick 12 to 15 new rates. Unfortunately most of the beers are average at best. I did not get an opportunity to try any special releases - maybe those are better than the regular IPAs, Belgians, and stouts. At $5.00 for six 3.5 ounce samples though I did not feel too cheated.
The food menu is limited but not your typical brewpub fare. An upscale menu attempts to differentiate itself but stumbles a bit. The pancakes, while visually appealing, lacked much flavor and the toast underneath the eggs benedict was slightly overdone. I would go back again with tempered expectations.
If Dilly’s had been open this would make a nice loop along with Dutch’s and a couple of other spots northeast of downtown. I would not recommend going out of your way to visit though - with other options such as Rhinegeist, Mad Tree, and Ei8ht Ball to choose from this slips to the second tier of "must visit" places.

Unique looking building, doesn’t look like a brewery, easy to drive by. Much smaller inside that it looks from outside. Clean new decor, a couple of tvs. They have about 15-18 beers on tap plus a couple of their bottled beers. They do samples, kegs and growlers. Nice spot to come by if you’re a ticker because they do 3.5 ounce sample pours, you won’t get wasted. Service was nice but overly helpful or descriptive of the beer. They had a stand out session, a couple good dipas and a great cask stout. Most beers were drinkable. This is a cool spot worth checking out.

Cozy place - was a bit crowded when we were there but were served quickly. Nice guest tap selection along with their own beers. A very pleasant place.

One of the best new places in the city. Their beers were solid to start, but are always getting better. Consistently trying new things and put out a consistent product. The food they have added is very good and not typical of most brewpubs. Ambiance is solid. Staff is friendly. Owners and brewers are present, friendly and do a great job.

Warm and friendly atmosphere, great service, good brews. All taps are their own, but the selection is varied and the quality is good. The Coffee Please is worth a special trip. Really good place.

Fifty West is located in Mariemont on Wooster Pike, east of Cincinnati. There is a private parking lot next to the building.
The interior is laid out like a house, and opens to a small foyer with merchandise in a case. To the right is a bar are with high tables and a bar in back. There is a separate room on the left with more seating, shuffle puck and a view of some of the brewing equipment. The bar offers a view of their uniform tap handles. There is a chalk board in the bar seating area and another behind the bar listing the available beers.
The brewpub has around 10 of their beers on draught. On my visit this included a Speed Bump Light, Penny’s Pils, an Imperial Stout, a Barley Wine and Coffee Porter, as well as a collaboration Belgian beer with Yellow Springs. All of the beers were decent with a couple stand outs. A 6-beer sampler is available, and it is only $5 during happy hour ($9 normally).
Service on a late Saturday afternoon at the bar was good. The bartender was very personable and knew the beers.
We did not have any food on our visit.
Overall this is a solid brewpub, and being right up the road from Dilly Cafe is a bonus. I would definitely visit again.

Located in the old Heritage Restaurant building on US 50/Wooster Pike. Nice atmosphere but timing is important--can get super crowded on weekend nights. Friendly, knowledgeable staff. Two sampler flights are offered--pretty decent brews, and the place seems to constantly be rolling out new ones. If you’re going there to eat, be aware the menu is tapas style, so the portions, while tasty, are not large.

Really groovy German style chalet. Fantastic food. Good variety of 50 West beers. The patio is the goods, especially on a brisk night. Also really dig the turntable, record collection, and shuffleboard.....

Stopped in on a saturday afternoon that quickly turned into saturday evening. Parking lot is right beside the building. It actually looks like a person’s house from the road. They had quite a few taps, all of which were their own, and they had a wide variety of styles to choose from. The wait staff was very courteous and attentive, keeping the large group I was in well hydrated and beer tasters coming. They also kept food on our tables. The food was fantastic as well. Everything that was brought out, whether it be a bowl of pretzels, or calamari, was delicious with their own personality coming through in each dish. This place is a must stop if you are in Cincinnati.
