Ok, so we go to a lot of breweries/brew pubs and having lived in Minneapolis for almost 8 years, we finally made the trip up to Duluth. We stayed at Fitgerís Inn so the bar was a must to check out. Showed up around 1 pm on a Friday and the bar was full. We werenít eating to we waited patiently for the bartender to have some time to grab us some beers, didnít have to wait too long. Grabbed our beers and head upstairs to overlook the scene. The bar was fine, a little dark and dated but not a big deal. Some seats opened up so we went back to the bar and chatted with the bartender for a while, nice guy. We ended up going back later that night and then again the next day. Overall, it was fine. I found the beers to be ok with no real shining stars. El Nino and Starfire were solid. Food was decent pub fare.

Friday night dinner on a holiday weekend. On a rainy evening, this place was packed, but our 20 minute wait for a table was eased by readily available pints at their side bar. I didnít know this brewpub was just one slice of a nicely renovated historic brewery complex. The surrounding small shopping mall is pretty cool. The brewpub itself is cavernous and full of nooks and crannies. It seemed a bit dark. But despite the crush of people, our server was attentive and knowledgeable of the brewpubís very long list of available beers. The food was standard tavern fare, and went down well. The beers ranged the gamut of styles, mostly good. With such a broad and constantly changing lineup, a dud or two is to be expected. (Brewery #649)

I always stop here when Iím in town or passing through. Lots of different beers styles at any given time and great food. Wild rice burger is awesome. The building is like a maze but fun to wander around in.

Cool place right on the lake in Duluth. It is a bit of a maze to find the brewery and its interesting that the brewing equipment is kind of strewn throughout the building mixed in with a bunch of different shops and restaurants. Beer is excellent. The waitress I had on my most recent visit really did not know much about the beers themselves, which is kind of bad. The whitefish burger was superb, as were the belgian beers they had on tap. Donít forget to stop by their store one floor down where you can get growlers and over-priced tshirts!

Good number of taps available.Good variety and selection. Very good beer. Great food (awesome elk burger). Surprisingly good value. Quick friendly service. Busy. Tucked away in a sort of mini mall.

This review is after two visits, maybe not great beer but real good solid beer. Their Bent Hop & El Nino were good, had their cask Irish Stout that was way too cold (just had to let it warm up). The fish & chips were very good and the service.....Just the greatest during our first visit. Knew the beers and stopped by when we needed something but never a bother. We had good service the second night but not upto the standards of our first server. If you live in the Duluth area, you are lucky and if you visit a stop at Fitgerís is a must.

Very cute little brewhouse right on the lake. Beer is very good! About 12 of their own beers on tap, plus 2 on cask. Food is good - mostly burgers and sandwiches but still good. Very reasonably priced. Seems like the place to go in Duluth.

Nice rustic and historical building. Not big on fish but the fish tacos are out of this world. I havenít had any food or beer at this place that I didnít like. Now it is a pit stop on the way to the cabin every time we go up north.

The only place to be every night of the week in Duluth. Fitgerís make some of the best beer I have ever had, and the selection is always changing. The atmosphere is amazing. The place is always crowded, so you can barely walk around or even find a piece of wall to lean against. The music is the best (Charlie Parr, if youíre lucky), and the floor stomping dances are memorable. On my list of top 10 brewpubs to visit before you die.
