Good place. Food is decent, beers are great. Many very good brews on tap. Food is good pub fare. I donít think family friendly, but a good place to hang with the buds or my wife and I go there a lot.

Not sure why I havenít reviewed Flanaganís until now. This is pretty much my go-to hangout place. I generally go on Thursday nights because they have pint nights where they feature a couple different craft and/or import beers where you get to keep the breweryís glass it comes in. I have a whole cabinet and a couple boxes worth of glassware from here to prove it. Plus trivia in the back on Thursday nights is always fun. Just make sure you ask for prices first, as they are not listed. Generally youíre looking at $5-$6 per pint on average. But Iíve had more than a few $9-$12 per pint surprises when the check comes. Pretty large and interesting place. The main area is a double-sided bar with plenty of stools on both sides surrounded by booths and tables lining the walls. Definitely an Irish pub look to the place. Plenty of TVs tuned to various sports. Great place to watch a game. A short walk down the hallway will most likely lead to a bathroom door to the face, (narrow hallway with bathroom doors that open out into it). Once you straighten out your nose from the door hit, the hallway leads out to the patio area which is quaint, especially during nice weather. Plenty of tables and seating. This is also the smokersí area. In the corner of the patio is an outdoor bar that is in a drop-down heated enclosure for the smokers during the colder months. This is also the entrance to the back bar area which has a name that I donít remember. The back bar is roughly the same size as the main bar area, but far less Irish look or feel here. But there are lots more tables, booths, and stools at the bar back here should the main bar or patio be too crowded. Lots more large screen TVs tuned to sports back here as well. The wait staff is always friendly and helpful in describing their beers and helpful in steering those who are not craft beer geeks like myself in making a beer choice suitable to their liking. Draft beer list is fairly sizable with roughly around 15 or craft and import beers of varying styles. And what they donít have on draft, they probably have in bottles. Fairly large, albeit pricey selection of bottled beers. Your certain to find several things worth drinking regardless of your tastes. Food here is excellent as well. I highly recommend the bread sticks and the spicy cheese balls as appetizers. The Buffalo chicken sandwich and Highland classic cheeseburger are my go-toís for main dishes. The pizza here is also surprisingly good, especially for a bar. Generally fairly crowded from Thursday night - Saturday night, especially during Spring and Summer months. Other nights tend to be far less crowded. Overall I have never had a bad experience here. Certainly one of the nicer, friendlier bars on Bardstown Road. And while there is a strong college crowd draw to the place, itís not the fratboy party types. Much more of an easy going, hangout with friends vibe. Great place to watch a game and enjoy some good beers and good food.

a beautiful spring day to sit out on the patio at flanagans. the sun was warm the day was beautiful and then...really didnt appear to be that busy but the service was terribly slow. first off the draft beer selection was minimal granted day after st pattys day but what they had was normal run of the mill mild beers. can get most anywhere else. the food is decent pub grub i had the chef salad which was pretty good, daughter had grilled cheese that was really good. friend had bison burger and when she asked for mayo she ended up going in to get her own. waitress disappeard for about 15 minutes again thought she was busy only to emerge with a tray with 3 waters..when we asked for our tab it was wrong but the table figured it out...use to hang in this place alot but after today really dont have a reason to go back.

Easy to find location on Baxter Avenue with street parking. Clean Irish pub with a wood bar in the middle and tables all around and patio outside the back door. Freindly service with good knowledge of selection of 18 taps. All beers on tap were average to good. Good food menu of Irish and american apps and dinner selections. I enjoyed the visit.

Another typical Irish Pub that college kids take over on the weekends. Pretty good food and an alright beer selection.

This place is a lot like OíSheas and seeing as how they are owned by the same family one can see why. Itís just about the same as OíSheas really. The food is solid and the selection is pretty good. A good bar to go out to for some beers and food. I also go to this one during the week as on the weekends it gets crazy packed and youíll pay a cover to get in (just like at OíSheas)

This place is a pseudo Irish style pub. They have decent selection of draft and bottled beers. This place was one of the better places to go in the city but basically have fallen due to employee/mgr turnover. Service outside of the bartenders is terrible. Food is boring and not very good; really wish they would update their menu and hire a new cook. Will update later.

Typical Irish pub atmosphere. Very friendly and efficient servers. The draft beer selection is just above average. Nothing really great on draft when I visited, but it looked like have special keg tappings every so often that were much better. The food was good --- typical pub food. Not a destination. Good to fall back on if you can find anything else open/nearby for some reason.

good selection of beers, but the staff (when iíve been there) donít seem to know or care much about beer. the food is pretty good - its more a "party" bar than a beer bar, but they do have good beer and thats fine with me. it can get slammed and the service will suffer, as expected. i do give them props on the beer selection, in that location, they could get away with a few premiums and the standard american/other mass produced brands.

Apparently, not knowing the bartender means you donít get service. For the prices, I find this to be a fatal shortcoming. I wonít be going back.
