Headed in here and up the stairs for lunch to take a break from our drive further north from Phoenix Ė Salt Lake Ė and now here. Cool little semi industrial looking space (early 1900ís industrial). We took a seat at a small table and ordered lunch on the health conscience menu. The food was solid while our server was a bit on the stoic side (of course maybe part of that was our drive wearing on us). I grabbed a couple of pints where the IPA was pretty nice and the bigger IPA really hit the spot. Cool little spot and coming back when weíre in the area again is a sound idea.

Great new addition to the beer scene in Missoula. Fancy upstairs bar, with ample comfortable seating at the bar and tables. Big screen TVs for sports fans. Staff were helpful & friendly. Beer selection was all of Flathead Lakeís lineup (with a few other Montana brews offered too), and there was growler fills too. Food was great and priced right. Seems a very popular place to visit.

Finally made it in here after a dozen or so trips to Missoula since this place opened. It was nice, kind of fancy, definitely a departure from the brewpub up near Bigfork. Itís cool that I can come here though and get growlers instead of driving all the way up there. Plus, itís making for a really good beer scene in Missoula having all these new breweries. They had all the beers that would be at the other location. Also, they had the IPA and Porter on Nitro as well as regular CO2.

I donít know that itís fair to say that thereís a bit of a boom happening in downtown Missoula, but it would certainly be accurate to say that there are a lot of shiny new places to go eat and eat and/or grab a drink. This is one of those newer places. Itís up a flight of stairs, and not readily evident from sidewalk level, but more than worth a visit, even if youíre not a huge beer nerd. We came in for beers. Thereís a hostess, thereís a lot of matching furniture, thereís a long and brightly polished stone bar. The brass faucets glisten. The chalkboard is neatly lettered in electric pastel chalk. You could be at a self-assured brewpub/restaurant anywhere in America. Thatís a double-edged sword, in a sense, because so many other Missoula spots maintain a sense of place either historically or aesthetically (if not both), but the anywhere quality at the Flathead bespeaks an urbanity to go with a very bright and festive atmosphere. So the good, in the end, far outweighs the bad, when it comes to the notion that this place could be anywhere. The staff is helpful, well-trained, informative, efficient, and always in motion. They seem to have been hired with an eye toward their resemblance of American Apparel models. And, like seemingly everyone in Missoula, theyíre ultra-friendly, chiming in to strike up conversation and answer questions at any time without being prompted or waved at or tackled. We could use a couple hundred of these kids in Seattle. The beers here are well-made, clean, and delicious. The food looked and smelled fantastic but we were already full. This will definitely be a place to visit again, along, perhaps, with its sister, the original location, located upstate a spell. "Spell" is an old west expression connoting moderate distance. See what I did there?

This is an upstairs bar on the main drag in Missoula, located above a restaurant. There is a nice bar with around 15 stools and enough table seating for about 40. There are 11 brewery beers on tap in addition to a couple guest taps. There is a short menu of mostly bar food. The bbq pork sandwich was quite good. There are special events on some evenings with a lively crowd. Nice ambience and the service is good when not crowded.
