I have been going to this Flying Saucer for some time now, and it is the only bar that I regually go to. The beer selection is outstanding and always changing. The bartenders are always checking to see if you are ready for another beer or if you want to order some food from the menu which was updated last month. What I really like is how the managers are always interacting with the customers, and asking for input on what they can do to better the beer and food selection. If you are in the Charlotte University are I would highly recommend stopping in for a beer or two.
This is the best beer bar in Charlotte. 86 beers on tap with at least 10 seasonal rotators. They also have close to 200 bottles. Waitresses are friendly and know their beer. The entire place is bordered by plates with the names of those who have had over 200 different brews there. Food isnít bad at all and they do have a section of the menu headed "Hot n Cheesy." The great thing about this place is that there is always some special. On Sunday itís NC brews but the best time to go is Monday when about 70 of the beers on tap are 2.75 for a pint. Anyone who loves beer will love this place.
This is the best place in town. If you want to drink go here. If you want to dance find some other place. The waitress are prompted and good looking. Hit up Mondays for 2.50 pints and Wednesday to get a class with the special and trivia. All though the food selction is limited, it is still great food.
This is one good beer bar. Definitely the best beer selection in Charlotte. Food is typical pub food with a large assorment of meats and cheeses. Rumor has it that they will be upgrading the menu before the end of the year. Was there on a Wednesday night and drank a Piraat on draft and got to keep the glass. Pretty cool. I definitely would check this place out anytime in Charlotte and plan to frequent as much as possible.
A great bar chain and the food was excellent. I had the German platter with two different sausages, slaw, and potatoe salad. probably the best I have had and I have been to Germany. Amazing beer selection, but maybe too many. I had so may types and samples I wasnít able to keep track. The local Big Boss brands were great. My freinds had the philly cheesesteak and said it was good, not the best but above avergae for a bar. The bartender was very knowledable about beer but the waitresses were not.The prices seemed reasonable for most brews and on the cheaper side for a few of them.
Great staff that take the time to learn your name. Awesome selection, they manage to be the first in town with seasonals and special releases. The food is always good. Prices are good for a bar, yeah I can find them for less but I wonít be getting the same atmosphere. Gets pretty crowded on weekends late night. Best time to come is a weekday afternoons and really enjoy the brews.
Pretty awesome place. Sometimes the service can be a little bit slow, but thatís partially to blame for the popularity of the place. Itís always crowded. This place was built for beer lovers. Check it out.
This beer bar in northern Charlotte suburbs is rather hard to find from North Tryon street as it is hidden from view, but once you find it you should start getting excited. 82 taps, most of which for excellent brews (Duck Rabbit, Bellís, Foothills, etc.) and a bottle list which is as attractive. There are hundreds of plates on the walls everywhere, but all is neatly done and does not feel cluttered. Our server was outstanding, remembering all of our orders by heart, serving us promptly and with a smile. The smoked salmon wrap I had was quite good and rather inexpensive for its quality. I was expecting less quite honestly in such a beer-focused bar. The Foothills Pilsener I had was as fresh as the mindblowing Duck Rabbit Baltic Porter that followed, so I guess they are able to keep their lines clean and their lineup fresh most (if not all) of the time. I will definitely be back here if I can go back to the Charlotte area.

Great selection. Many beers on tap. offers samples at decent price. Bar is huge. Great all-around atmosphere. Bartenders were semi-knowledgeable.
This is a small chain of restaurants that specialize in beer. I have also been to the Raleigh, NC location. Both have 80ish draught beers, and you can create your own flights. The food is typical pub fare. Staff are very helpful, but I have found it is much better to go on slow nights.
