Okay, it is a chain but what a beer selection. This was the first Flying Saucer I visited. The bartenders were awesome and the beer selection is about as good as you can get. Food selection is limited but everything I tried was good. Beer isnít cheap but not too expensive. Beer selection makes this place.

A great place to grab a brew. Rotating selection with lots of hard to find brews.

This is probably one of my favorite drink halls. Great selection and good staff. The food was typical bar food, but very well done. Their beer selection was fantastic, especially considering I had not expected to find such an establishment in Columbia.

Nice place and a lot of beers on selection. But the staff is a little rude. Worth going though.

A fantastic bar. I have been a beerknurd member since 2007. I usually sit at the bar and unless its a new bartender who doesnít know me I get fast, polite service. The food is standard bar food fair (wings, burgers, fries, nachos) but the beer more than makes up for this one shortcoming. Definite recommendation.

Visited here in July í07. Best selection of beers I have seen a bar in the South. Reminds me a lot of the Ginger Man in Austin. Hundreds on tap and in the bottle - basically anything you can get in the newly "high gravity allowed" state of South Carolina. Young, energetic staff - somewhat beer knowledgeable. Food was decent - only had the nachos. Prices are a tad steep - but they do allow you to have "flights" of 5 - 5 oz beers of your choice from their draught list for $8. Even have a few picked out for you - I had the "Carolinas" flight. Loud atmosphere, everyone seemed to be having a good time. Recommended.

I like going here. Yea, the service isnít always that great and the waitstaff are there just for looks, but I only really go for the beer. They have 82 beers or so on tap, but there could be more craft beers and rarities. There should be more local beers though. The food is just bar food. Some of the stuff is decent, like the quesadilla, chips and queso, and a couple sandwiches. Some of these reviewers act like this place is supposed to have good food or something. Anyhow, I go to get my name on the wall and to drink some beer that I normally wouldnít get to taste.
