72 AMBIANCE 3/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 11/15 FOOD 7/10 VALUE 6/10 OVERALL 14/20 Maverick34 (42) New York | August 1, 2012 A pretty huge ass FS. NOt a bad one with a decent list of local brews. Maybe too big but eh. | 82 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 13/15 FOOD 7/10 VALUE 8/10 OVERALL 16/20 maxwelldeux (65) Raleigh, North Carolina | April 20, 2013 This is the second Saucer I’ve been to, and they are pretty much all the same. But they’re all pretty good, so that’s a good thing. 80ish drafts and a crapton of bottles. This location was a little crowded and very noisy, but they had a great selection of local beer to make up for it. I’ll definitely be back when next I’m in Houston. | 86 AMBIANCE 3/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 14/15 FOOD 5/10 VALUE 8/10 OVERALL 18/20 blackflag321 (36) Lansing, Michigan | January 18, 2013 Visited several times while in Houston on a business trip; it was a short walk from my hotel. I was surprised to find out that it is a chain. It was busy and noisy, but it has a relatively quiet nook. Excellent selection and good prices. On one visit, a waitress went from table to table distributing free samples. Food is so-so. | 80 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 12/15 FOOD 8/10 VALUE 8/10 OVERALL 16/20 bytemesis (224) Sunnyvale, California | October 22, 2012 Nice place in downtown Houston - no free parking. Pretty dead at lunchtime on Monday. Great tap selection with a lot of interesting locals, nothing really exotic. Decent bottle list to supplement. A lot of space inside. Food was decent, service was good and the server knew her beer. All in all a good experience. | 90 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 13/15 FOOD 9/10 VALUE 8/10 OVERALL 20/20 SudsMcDuff (178) .....Manchester United.........., Texas | August 27, 2012 Update: after all these years still my favourite beer destination, love this place!! .....dec’07-Went 4 my birthday, and for specail group tastings.. . Comfortable aura when you walk in. Friendly and fairly knowledgeable (and cute) waitresses. Beer selection is probably the best in Houston. The food can be low end to high grade (the beer cheese soup was ..well, crap). This place seems to know what they are doing.... | 78 AMBIANCE 2/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 14/15 FOOD 9/10 VALUE 7/10 OVERALL 15/20 LordOfTheFlies (3) Texas | August 9, 2012 Great place. Meh atmosphere, but HUGE selection and great food. | 88 AMBIANCE 3/5 SERVICE 9/10 SELECTION 12/15 FOOD 10/10 VALUE 6/10 OVERALL 20/20 Judes (1) Houston, Texas | August 3, 2012 Was invited to go by Gram (Suds McDuff) and have been back a couple of times with him since, last time, he was wearing a suit and felt quite a relief. Too many beers, i just asked what i would like, and they set me up perfectly. the reuben sandwich is amazing! if it wasn’t so far away, i would go all the time! | 86 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 13/15 FOOD 8/10 VALUE 8/10 OVERALL 18/20 tapthis (27) Texas | June 23, 2012 About the standard saucer affair, its nice thst they have alot of beer to select fro. Staff seemed knowledgeable enouh to
Make suggestions. I just happened to have had most of these beers, so unfortunately i wasnt too impressed with what they had. | 82 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 7/10 SELECTION 12/15 FOOD 7/10 VALUE 8/10 OVERALL 18/20 badlizard (130) Berkeley , California | June 9, 2012 One of the most fun FS I’ve been too. This place is awesome! Worth a visit for sure. | 88 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 10/10 SELECTION 13/15 FOOD 7/10 VALUE 9/10 OVERALL 17/20 Steve_0 (87) Denver, Colorado | June 6, 2012 Was a little shocked when I first walked in because it was extremely busy. This was understandable though because it was trivia night and the NBA Eastern Conference Finals were on. No worries, I finally found a spot at the bar and was promptly asked if I needed some help. The bartenders are extremely friendly and were generously giving me tasters of different beers once they realized how into beer I was. Huge selection of taps and bottles, with some pretty quality stuff. My favorite thing about this place is the numerous flight options you can choose from, plus you can build your own. Awesome. The only knock I had was it was very loud, but I kind of enjoyed it that night. A great place to catch a game with friends, but get there early because you seat yourself and space is limited on a busy night. Great food and great prices. This was my favorite spot in Houston because of the great service and fun atmosphere. If I was going out with my wife I would probably hit the Hay Merchant, but if you want to try a bunch of different beers and have a lively night, this is the place to go. Great people and a lot of fun. |
