Apparently if you choose your own sample flight instead of going with one of their default flights they charge you $25. Thatís insane. I could have gotten full pours of everything I sampled for around $30. When I saw the bill that kind of killed it for me; I donít think Iíd ever go back to one of these. Apart from that the food was decent and the service was fairly good even though the place was crowded as heck.

Visited during a recent trip to Kansas City. This bar is located in what seems to be a fun district of downtown KC, the Power & Light District, and is a short stroll away from a horde of other restaurants and bars. It is also right next door to a parking garage that, at least the Friday evening I was there, offered all-night parking for $2, which is always a plus for a downtown spot! The tap list is extensive, the bottle list not so much - approximately as many bottles on hand as taps. Bar staff seem to know their beer, which is unfortunately not a given at many craft bars. Thereís a bit of a kitschy vibe, with much of the place wallpapered with "saucers" that people apparently earn by ticking 200 different beers on site, and three times in the couple hours I was there, new "saucers" were unveiled with much ado - overhead speaker announcing, bells ringing at the bar, and so forth. The place was fairly crowded, but thatís to be expected for a downtown spot on a weekend evening. The food menu is standard pub fare, burgers and appetizers. The tap list included some harder to find beer, and it looks like they try to have something unique on hand at all times, in addition to an apparent focus on Missouri and Kansas beer. Would return if ever back in town.

Visited here a while back. Typical Flying Saucer. They did selected flights that were pretty good. Nothing too rare but definitely worth a visit if you are in town. Food was good too.

Stopped in for Stout Week. Very nice event. Got to try BA Abraxas! Great service, bartender was excellent. Beer prices were fair. Food was good and priced fairly also. Will visit again!!

What seems to be a somewhat newer Flying Saucer. I pretty typical set up with large seating area and bar. Selection was good but the menu was quite outdated and even the new arrivals on the board was outdated. Beyond that service was fine. Food was standard pub fare and prices were in line with what was expected. Worth it for the selection.

Standard saucer with nice mix of local stuff and imports , I wish they would list what they have by brewer not just style . Food is decent bar food.

Stopped in here on a Sunday afternoon. Service was a little slow, but the bartender knew her stuff. Did not eat so no judgement there. There is really nothing that sticks out as bad about this place, however it is a bit "corporate-ish" for my taste. I prefer my bar personality to ooze and refine itself with age, not to be packaged and handed to me. That said, the selection was good and featured many local offerings. The menu was laid out differently as it did not have separate listings for bottle vs. draft.

There is nothing wrong with this place. It is just not my style. They have a lot of taps. It is much more Belgian and German focused than most chains. The menu is horrible - other people have said so too because the draft and bottle list are intermingled. Crazy confusing to read and sort through. The staff surprisingly knew their beer very well. I hear their events are cool. This place feels like a factory, but itís the best sort of downtown beer factory that Iíve been to. If you want to see the real beer scene of KC, head down to Westport.

Regular taps are OK to good. Limited number of esoteric beers are brought in. The bartenders can be nice, but they have no beer knowledge. Food is OK. All that being said, itís the best Flying Saucer that Iíve been to.
