A great place for as they say "The Beerknurd". Awesome selection of brews but needs more selections on the food menu. I will say that the staff is well versed in beer knowledge and very friendly and helpful!!

This is my favorite place in the entire Triangle area for beer. The waitstaff is friendly and very knowledgeable about beer. Management goes above and beyond, and they have a lot of cool special beer related events. I have been going here for nearly 9 years and there have been other places that have opened up all over the city, still this is the place that all other beer bars should be measured by.
Big place with a huge tap and bottle list in the downtown area of Raleigh. Busy on a recent Spring evening, even on the outdoor patio, but did not have to wait for a table. Thinned out as the night rolled on. Crowd was mostly young (there is a college right across the street) but not rowdy. Food menu was limited but satisfying. Good service; attentive but not obtrusive. Liked the vibe; tvís and cell phones were in limited use, so conversations dominated. Would definitely return if in the area again.
I liked the Flying Saucer. Itís a large place but somehow felt comfortable and homely and it has a nice patio with chunky wooden tables and benches. The very long and impressive beer list is matched by a long, long bar, backed with shiny copper pennies. The walls and ceiling are covered in saucers each bearing a name, a number, a date and a quote. The different coloured edgings (gold, silver, bronze and red) denote how many beers the owner of the saucer has drunk, in multiples of 200. And thatís a lot of beer, as there are no half pours here.

Just off the centre, unpromising from the outside and a bit of a barn inside but a superb range of beers - US and imported - and simple long bar makes this a great place to while away half a day. Nice staff too.
Nice place. It can get crowded but Iíve still always managed to get a nice table at some point. They seem to keep some usual bottles on hand, as they dont seem to cycle through nearly as much as I would like. The taps do cycle through and the variety is awesome. Hit or miss on waitress but not by much nor often.
